2. Enter the inquiry number and the systems date into https://mkey.salthax.org/
3. Enter the key given as a result as the master key on your 3ds.
4. Done!

There you go, you can now use your 3ds unrestricted. Enjoy!

It works fine for me. If you try continuing past the prompt it should either tell you why it happened or show the website anyway.

i tried to use this recently and it wasn't able to work, it spat out an error, it said "Your master key could not be calculated. If your inquiry number is correct, this server is missing the required data to process it." and i used the exact inquiry number, both with the space and without the space

this was a couple of months ago for a 3ds i was modding for my sister's friend, she was able to tell me the original code so i was able to proceed fine, i was mostly just voicing my experience and seeing this thread reminded me that it happened. i'll try to remember this alternate version if the need ever arises again
