I have begun testing with 2.3 as it's the first one with no_disc hardcoded. If results contradict your anyone's experience with 2.2 please let me know, so I can try to have a last know working rev with a specific game. It looks like some of you guys still use 2.2.

Maybe Crediar should leave a link to the previous DM on his google SVN in case of any regression. Besides it would make him a tiny bit of extra cash to have more links to d/load from and that's always a good thing for motivation lol.

Some clarification about the No Disc history.
If something is wrong, feel free to correct me.
This is information I gathered by reading comments and official changelogs.

The no disc is hardcoded since 1.0

Before 1.0, you needed to enable that setting manually.
since 1.0, the "software switch" (set by the user in the loader) setting is not doing anything anymore (ON or OFF doesn't trigger the patch in DML codes).
Now the way to trigger the patch is now detected by a "hardware switch" (if there's a disc in the drive, it consider that the "no disc" setting is ON, and it applies the patches).
To test the NODISC, just put/remove a disc in your drive. (the setting name is confusing, it's not denoting that there is no disc in the drive, but that the game does not access the disc anymore)

As the software switch was not needed anymore, Crediar removed it in 2.1 (it was unused since 1.0 anyway).
Later, he noticed that the "no disc" patch (triggered when you have a disc in the drive) required an additional patch address for 2 games only, so he added back the "software switch" in DM/L v2.2 as an "extended NoDisc" (called NODISC2 in the sources).
When the user enable that extended no disc setting AND that there is a disc in the drive, both patches were applied: the normal no disc (triggered by the presence of the disc in the drive) and the extended no disc (triggered by the user's setting in the loader).

As only 2 games required the additional patches, I suppose he hardcoded these two games in DM(L) source code and removed the "no disc2" setting in v2.3. It is now automatically added to the no disc patch if the required game is played.
The NODISC and NODISC2 patches are now both detected and applied if you put a disc in the drive.

I have the DML r58 I believe, and think it is time for me to upgrade. How should I go about it so I do not screw anything over? Also will all the games I have on my SD card remain useable? Thanks in advance for any good responses ^^

If you want to run GC games off of your SD card still, make sure to get the Dios Mios Lite version to keep your SD working; the "regular" Dios Mios is for USB loading.
And even if you upgrade your DM, I can't imagine there would be any problem with the games on your SD card. I'm presuming the paths are the same for games in all versions.

That is good about the games ^^ And another thing: I have not installed anything with NEEK to do (do not even know what it is :P) so I should install the version which is not NEEK+DI, right? Also, what kind of loaders are available for the DIOS MIOS Lite? Right now I am using one made by FIX94, but I suppose that it will not work after the upgrade. By the way, I mention one more time that it would be very nice to have someone explain exactly how to do this. It is like almost a year ago since I did anything with hacking on my Wii, so I do not unfortunatly remember much :P

DM-Booter by Fix94 works just fine with the latest DM(L) updates. Just make sure you're on the latest rev, I believe it's r30 and you can d/load it here. There is a how-to for DM here

In other news I've decided to place my game testing mission on hiatus, I realized I have 103 GC titles, which would be very beneficial to the compatibility list, however I've been informed on #DM that I should wait until a new release. They're fully aware of the prog + padhook bug and would prefer testing on a new build. I was not advised of any time frame for a release of 2.7, however now I am certain that at some point development will continue with DM. Happy gaming guys.

I think I know why TLOZ: twilight princess freezes when loading a map.
The game runs on a modified wind waker engine.

I heard TLOZ: Wind waker had a similar problem when playing via retail disc, but it was fixed.

Also, does it exists a compatibility list when playing retail games? Would be nice to archive the information of which games work when playing the retail disc.

Well that's some good news at a 2.7 at some point. I was really happy with 2 disc games but kinda bummed that some really common games got broken for me.

hooray for 2.7!

Thanks for the DMToolBox for Win XP

hooray for dmtoolbox for xp. this will help me a lot

great news today

Good news, I hope it doesn't take long for DM development to come back, also DM for Wii U!

IIRC, Devo was up and running on Wii U but not made public... DM might not be possible unless there still is a MIOS in the vWii... and then I think there are some Wiimote to GC hacks/soldering things but nothing I've seen seems easy/simple...
I'm hoping that it is possible but I haven't really seen much so far that gives me too much to hope on. I hope that "impossible is nothing" will keep ringing through :)

DM for WiiU... Not likely. If anything he'll probably find an alternate way of doing things. Besides why would u want to work with only 96kb on a next gen console lol.

Even if/when he does find a different way maybe the DM title would just change. I love the Dios-Mios name so maybe something like Dios-Mios Evolution/Revolution/Re-Loaded would be awesome.

Oh how about "Dios-Mios Tu" a Spanish way of saying "you" as in U in WiiU and DM 2 in English lol.

One more question, how do I install the DML Booter r30? There is no WAD file in the file I downloaded from the download page (http://code.google.com/p/dios-mios-booter/downloads/list)
The DM(L) Booter is just an app that you run from the HBC so no WAD installation is required. It does, however, use the already installed copy of DM(L) to run games which you will have to have installed with a WAD.

But I have used a forwarder that allowed to open the booter from the system menu. Is that not possible? Was so less of a chore than to have to open HBC first...

I'm fully aware of that, it's sad that Devo is still not cracked or else it would be the best transition for the Wii U, sorry guys but I'm one old school gamer who finds more fun playing GC games than Wii ^^;

Actually that's not a bad idea!
