I'm starting to think it is a SD card compability problem (I'm using a Lexar 2GB), but still it's strange when it work with r21, has anything being changed in this matter since r21? I don't have another SD card or SDhc card so maybe someone else can try this out and see if they stuble upon anything.

I have the same SD card (Lexar 2GB (maybe class 2)) Formatted to FAT16 64KB and work great whit DMLr30.
I formatted the card with EasusPM (recommended)

I have.

SD 2gb Sandisk FAT16 with 64kb clusters. I'm using an old CRT TV with SCART Connection, PAL Wii with 4.3 and Neogamma 56. Games not shrinked

Everything works fine, but i get a disc error message with some games.

Skies of Arcadia PAL----> Works
Baten Kaitos PAL----> Works
Tales of Symphonia PAL----> Works
Resident Evil CV PAL----> Works
Fire Emblem PAL----> Works
GUN PAL----> Disc error message
Twin Snakes PAL ----> Disc error message

Updated from DML r25 to r30 using FIX94's create-wad.bat with FixElf from DML r30 svn, so here are some infos:

- SysMenu 4.3E
- DML r30 on Real Nand
- Games (all PAL) are started using PostLoader 3.60.3
- Component Cables
- 480p
- EasyStore 16GB Class 4 SDHC Card, FAT32, Sectorsize 32kb (with 64 kb some games wouldn't start properly)

- StarFox Adventures (discex -c) freezes when watching the intro video. However, I've only tried this once so I'm not sure if that's always the case
- If the intro video is skipped by pressing start or A, everything is fine
- Loading between areas in StarFox Adventures is much smoother than in r21.
- Twilight Princess (discex -c) gives a disc read error between title screen and save selection (title screen was skipped by pressing start). I tried only once, so maybe I was just out of luck
- Mario Kart Double Dash (discex -c) gives a disc read error somewhere in the second race of any cup in 1-Player-Mode. Also, the disc in the wii spins up like when loading a game when the error occurs. This didn't happen in r21
- Super Smash Bros Melee (discex -c) plays perfect. No lag, no music errors, no disc read errors

I'm not sure that after r21 having 64Kb cluster giva some improvment... i reformatted my sd to 32k and there is no difference, all is smooth...

I used EasusPM myself too but still it doesn't work, real strange..
But I mean I can get it to work with r21 so something must have gone really really wrong with these recent revisions when so MANY people can't get it to work even though it works with r21 for the majority of them.

r21 testet mario party 4 pal,mario golf pal,mario power tennis pal,mario kart pal and chibi robo pal and the games are running,not perfect,but good,only mario party 4 makes a lot of problems.
r26 - r30 testet same games,but all have black screen.
loaders are - NeoGamma R9 beta 56,postLoader 3.59.3 and 3.59.4,WiiFlow r418

the games are testing from sd/sdhc,not from dvd.

Ps:i have make a very interesting tests with my second wii console.

my first wii i have wright is a pal 4.e and is from 2006 and have black screen with r26-r30
my second wii is pal 4.3e from 2010 and of this wii are running the games.i haded testet with r30,and it's perfekt,mario party 4 makes no problems more.
i have testet with NeoGamma R9 beta 56 and ,postLoader 3.59.4 the transcend 8gb sdhc class 6 4 Fat 32/ 64kb cluster and kingston 2 gb mini sd Fat / 64kb cluster.

Probably not because the System Menu has nothing to do with it. The GC games run in gc mode (MIOS) and the loaders runs of IOS58(ahpbrot) or a cIOS.

ok, i haved only think this is the problem.my 2 wii's are with pimp my wii of the same stand,the loaders runs of IOS58(ahpbrot),only other is 4.1 and 4.3.my first wii will only runs with r21 and the other runs with all,and r30 perfekt ( was i have tested)

Christ...this thread is driving me nuts. Why the fuck does this thing work for some but not for others?

Don't get me wrong...I'm glad everyone's posting all this info, but there isn't any logic to it. What is it that the guys with working DML have in common that the others equally in common miss out?

Let's see...

-shrinked, not shrinked, 32k aligned...they're pretty much all confirmed working.
-works on both PAL and NTSC
-composite or component cables don't matter
-the FAT partitioning or cluster size doesn't seem to matter (@[member='tmv_josue']: sorry...I also used Easeus partition master. No luck on this side)
-both SD and SDHC from all varieties seem to work
-loaders neogamma, wiiflow and postloader have mentioned to work
-cache no longer matters since r28

So basically the only thing I haven't seen mentioned is sneek. Now I'm already trying things on my real nand (as I'm sure all others for whom it doesn't work are), but is it possible some files on the SD card (that SD:\bootmii folder? some priiloader forwarders? Or that sneeky SD:\sneek? folder?) might affect things somehow?

And another wild shot...is it possible my IOS58 and/or used cIOS needs updating?
(fuck...IS there even any IOS58 but the one that came with 4.3?)

I didn't realized there's a new version of DML. I stop using the old one months ago because it didn't work right in sneek.
Gonna try this later for sure. Gotta dust off the wii and update modmii. I'm still on 4.8.2

just install the new version, it should overwrite the old versions

as this is still not an official release, the DML Team is making people compile it partly on their own. When it's good and stable I suspect\hope they'll upload it in the traditional fashion so it can be constructed via ModMii.

Moreover, the initial video of Luigi's Mansion now works well (audio and video are perfect).

You should really try a real 1:1 version of the games unless it is confirmed that -c works.
Metroid 1,2, Geist, Kirby's Airride and I think Mario Party 7 or some other Mario Party BREAK when using -c !

Ok, update about the black screen problems of some people:
Now that i got time to test the new revs myself, guess what happened...

I got:
Launch day PAL Wii
BootMii boot2 installed
2 GB sd card, FAT32 formatted with 32KB cluster size(used the Panasonic formatter)
3.2 PAL system menu
no usb stuff connected
memory card in slot 1, usb gecko for debug output in slot 2
tested with NeoGamma and the disc channel(needs a trick now...)
