Differences between 1st/2nd Gen iPod Touch?

I'm looking at buying a refurb, but what's the main difference between them? Any real reason to go with the 2nd Generation version?

The 2nd gen is more slimmer, has a volume control button (along with reset and the home button) whereas the 1st gen does not. The 2nd gen has a crappy internal speaker (it really sucks but is ok if you want to kill someone with static).

I only saw about 2 main differences when I got my 2nd gen. One was it has mmore processing power than the 1st gen ones and it has a built in speaker to listen to music or watch movies without the headphones, which the 1st gen touches do jnothave either. There may be some smaller differences, but Those are the only major ones I can Think of.
