Gaming Difference between Euro and USA?

Hi everyone. What's the difference between Euro and USA games?

Example: Pokemon for Euro and Pokemon for USA.

From what I found, no differences. It's just the languages.

For examples:
color (USA) - colour (UK)
Mom (USA) - Mum (UK)
so on...

European version usually have one or two extra language such as French, German or whatever.

Generally, the U.S. version will be slightly smaller because it only has one language.

Gameplay is generally always the same.

There may be slight differences in the English language based on localization but for the most part many of the games are very much so the same unless they have to do with local culture.

European games also generally have Multiple languages (MULTI5/6/etc denotes this), in which case they will be slightly larger.

It's all about the same though.

Yes.

I never understood how people couldn't understand the difference between EUR and US being only languages. Although, that may be because they think that EUR only applies to the UK 8-)

everyone else in the world calls "soccer" football because that's its name, united state-ian football should be called differently.

And there is very little between (E) and (U) version of games, generally, you'll be interested in getting the one that gets dumped first, otherwise, (E) versions are only worth getting for the extra languages and games not released in America.

There are of course some exceptions but generally the above applies.

The football and Soccer debate goes far and wide, don't bother arguing over it.

The gist of it is that Football was a horrible name for a sport that has nothing to do with feet and Americans are too cocky to bother accepting as not being the name.

The current 'fix' for this problem is naming Soccer "Association Football" because Americans are still too fucking stubborn to give it up.

Yes, I'm American, but no I don't believe in stupid wording as such.

That's true, because of the time delay to get things into Europe if bugs are found in the American version (and sometimes a re-release done) they're sometimes fixed before the first EU release. I'm thinking Animal Crossing, I can't remember what the bugs in that were but AC 1.1 doesn't exist in Europe, I assume because they fixed it before release. Though that's just speculation, I could be wrong.

some games still have content differences between EU and US releases.
and example: naruto ninja destiny.
they left out the voices, a character and 2 maps in the EU release, but they left out the credits too.
the US does have the full character and map list.
and strangely the japanese one is missing 3 characters.

(I think it's football, cuz UK calls it football, and it actually springs from the UK...(Although the Chinese were ever sooner))

I personally don't care about eu or US releases, whichever gets released first....unless it's a hackjob like naruto ninja destiny

They often don't bother localising the English option at all and just add the other languages. Like when we waited years for the Euro version of Animal Crossing and still had to celebrate nonsense like "Labor Day"

its you US guys that say soccer! its football! you play with your feet! your 'football' should be called 'handball' or something. in australia, australian football should be called 'footegg' because its not even a ball! its and egg!
