Difference between [b1+1C] and [b1+C] in ROM names

Hi,

I'm trying to understand & sort my rom set,
In the same game set, I can see roms with [b1+1C] and other with [b1+C] and I don't find its meaning on google

[b?] Bad Dump, but I don't see anything about the +C

Some other tags do the same, [f1+C] and [f1+1C]

On Gameboy roms, it means color, though that should be separate brackets (name [b1][C])

Not sure what else it could be.

These come from a SNES set:
i.e.
Waterworld (E) [b1+C].smc
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Tournament Fighters (U) [b1+1C].smc

There also are +C on some other tags: American Gladiators (U) [hIR+C].smc

According to Wikipedia, it means that internal cartridge information has been hacked: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GoodTools#Universal_codes

As for what they mean by hacked in this context, I've no clue.
