The thing is they don't want to use a PS3 controller at all. It looks like this is a program to emulate a PS3 controller on a PC using bluetooth or USB, so you can use alternative control methods like a mouse and keyboard to play PS3 games; whether or not this emulation would work with a Wii / Wii U / Devo is another question entirely, since this program is only designed around interfacing with the PS3 itself.

yes GameFreakDude... iam looking for virtualize WIIMOTE or other Bluetooth pad... after that the possibility is like infinite (with program like glovepie...) and finally is possible play with pad not designed for wii/wiiU via pc+bluetooth....

This program is not designed to emulate any bluetooth controllers other than a PS3 sixaxis. Virtualization of Wii peripherals would have to be manually programmed and added to this software, which is not a trivial task at all; you could request this feature to the developers of this program, but I wouldn't expect anything to come out of it.

GlovePIE requires a real Wii peripheral connected to the PC's bluetooth stack. If you wanted GlovePIE to accept input from a virtualized Wii peripheral, this program would have to be even more massively re-programmed, which is just not worth the effort when the program itself has tools for mapping mouse and keyboard input to its virtualized controllers.

The only thing that might work without modifying this program at all is getting a PC to interface with the Wii via bluetooth or USB (the latter would probably be more likely to work) with the custom hardware required, and trying to virtualize a PS3 controller that a Wii running Devo would accept as input. Since Devo can use real PS3 controllers in its current state, it might be able to interface with a virtualized one via this method.

Alright, so this is running flawlessly for me, even on the Gamepad! You're like the most beautiful person of my day.

And I don't imagine it'll be far off when somebody finally bunkers down and figures out how to control this or the wii stuff with the Gamepad.
Even just recognizing it as a Pro Controller would work fine.

Edit: also, usb stick support is broken at the moment I believe.

I've been using r200 on my flash drive for a while now, and even though I have some wonky issues with USB Loader GX on it that I previously spoke of, Devolution has been flawless.

Really? Dang, must just be my flash drive then. It should've worked. :/
I'll try the flash drive again on the Wii U.

Devolution only supports FAT32. You may want to consider deleting the partition table and creating a new one via Gparted - that's what I had to do in order for my flash drive to work on the Wii.

Oh, and I'm doing this on a launch Wii, not a Wii U. Also Devolution does not (currently) support hidden partitions.

The GamePad itself doesn't have any Bluetooth modules inside it, so it can't interface with the Wii by itself no matter what you do. Some form of custom hardware would be required to do this, as well as modifications to the GamePad's firmware. So I wouldn't really expect it to happen.

I'd honestly be very surprised if it's possible to get the Wii U to virtualize the Wii, still accept GamePad inputs, and trick the virtualized Wii into thinking that the GamePad inputs are coming through the Bluetooth module. That just sounds so difficult to do.

Actually I was thinking more of a Wii U-native Devolution.

But then again, this is Devolution we are talking about. I mean, it does some pretty crazy voodoo already.

Really? I figured it at least had something. How does it connect to the Wii U?

The GamePad interfaces with the Wii U via a proprietary 802.11n WiFi connection. Fun facts: the GamePad sends input data to the Wii U 180 times per second!

Devolution native to the Wii U would be great, but it won't help everyone who wants to play Wii games on their GamePad without another controller =P

Oh wait, but wouldn't it then be possible to make it like a specific option when running Devolution on Wii U's? As it is possible to interact when running a gamecube game on the Gamepad, even if it is just a message essentially saying "stop doing that".

That "interaction" is not provided by the Wii U. The GamePad's firmware in its "Wii mode" is what overlays that message on the screen when you use any face buttons. All the GamePad is doing is taking in the video stream from the Wii U; it doesn't send anything back to the Wii U. It's like how the TV Remote function is provided by the GamePad without any need for a Wii U.

So I tried using Dios Mios to play games only to find out that you're unable to use a classic controller. Yippy.
Then I stumbled upon devolution! and thought, awesome! Finally I can play my Gamecube games again.
Nope. Gotta verify those games first.

Well, the reason I hacked the wii in the first place is because the optical drive failed. It doesn't read disks.
Anything I can do?
