Well if it's any consolation you can actually swap GameCube analog stick "caps" with those of a classic controller, in fact it's what I did on my WaveBird - I swapped the analog stick "cap" with the right analog stick "cap" of a non-pro classic controller (my WaveBird's the left analog stick's rubber top came off years and years ago and I've no idea what happened to it).

And to be clear, yes you can do this with the C-stick's analog "cap" as well.

Found this via Google, it's EXACTLY what my WaveBird looks like, the grey and all (silver wavebird didn't exist at the time):

Also stumbled across this which uses analog stick caps from a black CCpro:

LOL a MINI USB is on the top of that. They should make a classic controller in the style of that. It's great for the nostalgia value and such, like what they did with the SNES Classic Controller

Awesome!! I did that to my Wavebird too! :) I don't think anyone liked the shape of the C-Stick.
When I put away my GameCube, and started playing the GC games on the Wii, I painted my Wavebird white.

I also color swapped 2 of my Wii remotes.

I know that most people that do such a mod do it because of the C-stick, but the C-stick never bothered me. I originally was just doing it for the left analog since the rubber top had come off years ago but then for aesthetics I decided to do it for the C-stick as well.

Personally I like the color scheme better without the yellow - I've never been a fan of orange and yellow color tones. This gives a somewhat clean minimalistic feel without being so much that it lacks color and personality altogether - aka it's a nice balance.

*Ahem*

This is how you use a gamecube controller on a Wii/Wii U

*Ahem* from nearly four months ago:
Err... big problem regarding such a setup:
http://www.mayflash.com/Products/NINTENDOWiiU/W007.html

I'd also be extremely worried about retro game collections and having the Classic Controller button-mapping not match a SNES controller for similar/matching games (Nintendo Puzzle Collection and Tetris Attack comes to mind, though it is quite a minor example)

You may want to talk with tueidj a bit more regarding button mapping...

(PS. did tueidj mention anything at all regarding sideways-wiimote support in devolution?)
The Mayflash adapter doesn't even have price or availability. Does anyone here have experience w/ Mayflash products? I'll stick with this project as I have faith in how it's being developed. Mayflash could be sourcing boards from qwerty, only he knows ;)
Mayflash is THE company for pretty much any controller adapter, especially since Sony ran Lik-Sang out of business in 2006. I myself own a Classic Controller to USB adapter and it works great.

That's assuming tueidj isn't going to pre-bake in his B->A and Y->B CC->GC mapping, cause that'd mess up said adapter, hence that post I made nearly 4 months ago - see the entire quoted post below.

I just talked to tueidj about CC support in Devolution, and although he said it "won't be released for a while", he has made a decision on button mapping that will affect how I do the mapping for these adapters. Here's how the CC buttons are being mapped in Devolution:
CC GC
Y->B
B->A
A->X
X->Y

I did this. But the file that was created was only 2mb. That's big enough. I wouldn't be able to save any more games to it. When devolution created a memcard file itself, it was 16mb.
16mb is the size of the largest official memory card while your dump is limited to the size of whatever your memory card was (most likely a 59 block card).

I do believe however that you can use Dolphin's save game manager to extract the individual saves and put them into a 16MB/1019 block card.

The Mayflash adaptor was only released a few weeks ago.

There was a month delay from the proposed launch in March at least according to PlayAsia.

It also works with a WaveBird controller for those interested.
