I find it very sadistic in a poetic way that tueidj is at the moment the only person on earth who plays GC games in his Wii U.

What a lucky guy!;)

P.S Please tueidj, release Devolution for Wii U! I am ready to handle whatever anti-piracy protection you manage to bring us. My original GC collection wait patiently your verification method!

I have a Ps3 too and can't wait play gamecube games on my wii with my Dualshock 3.
Man, i bought a old wii with support gamecube controllers but i broken my controller and this solution (Duashock 3) will help to save my money...:yayps3:
I have a Wii and i am thinking buy a WIIU now just because Devolution and play Gamecube games with Dualshock 3 on WIIU!
Thanks to tueidj and waiting a new Devolution release with support to Dualshock 3/Wiimote.
Ps: Sadly that i have to buy a Gamecube original disc to play the Gamecube isos.

why in heavens name would you WANT to use that horribly imprecise controller? the PS3 controller is crap. I own a PS3 and i bought third party controllers because the original sony controllers suck balls. if you say you want to use the 360 controller - that makes perfect sense.
best controller still GameCube one though^^

Completely disagree, the DS controller will always be my preferred controller over anything, it's designed to suit all games, especially fighters, the D-pad is spot on.

The Gamecube controller is one of the worst I've ever used, not as bad as the first Xbox controller but not much better either.

I would like DualShock controllers better if it weren't for the fat & stubby "handles"... regardless of anything else, I've always found it to be the most uncomfortable standard controller of any home console in the last 10 or so years due to said "handles". It looks like this may have finally changed a bit on the PS4 (slightly longer and slightly more ergonomic handles! FINALLY!), so I'm extremely interested in physically trying the controller out.

In terms of raw physical ergonomics (in no particular order), I've found the GameCube, 360, Xbox Duke, and wiimote + nunchuck to be the most comfortable (haven't tried any Wii U controllers yet). However, none of those controllers have a SNES-style dpad & button arrangement which makes them considerably less flexible in their universal-game-playing functionality. Therefore I find the Classic Controller Pro to be the next best thing, though its ergonomics are somewhat less comfortable with its N64-esque handles. (people compare the CCpro to the dualshock, but physically it feels much more like an N64 controller without the middle prong)

Funny thing about the Xbox Duke - I have small hands yet I find the Duke much more comfortable than the Xbox S controller. The underside/backside of triggers on the S end up hitting against my middle fingers. My theory is that my small hands may require me to "choke-up" on the controller for my index fingers to rest flat on the triggers, which in turn makes the rest of my hand move forward/upward resulting in my middle fingers bumping into the underside/backside of the triggers.

Besides the Dreamcast and Phillips CD-I, I've owned every console from the 4th generation up and I agree that the XBOX was the most horrific controller I've ever held in my hand. However the Gamecube remote, especially the WaveBird was a technological marvel. That remote fit so snug in my hands it felt like it wrapped and hugged my hands and fingers. Truly an ergonomical feat and by far my fave remote of all time.

But I was and still am a hardcore smash player so that probably has lots to do with it.

So I'm the only person in the world that found the Duke to be one of the most comfortable and in fact more so than the smaller "S" controller? That's just baffling, especially since most people say the Duke was designed for people with large hands and yet mine are small...

EDIT: According to this not-so-scientific website, my hands are smaller than 91%-98% of the nation's males yet are quite average for females - larger than 52-67% of the nation's women.

For reference, my hands are 7.125 inches in length and 3.2 inches in width, and I'm a guy.

EDIT 2: According to this slightly-more-scientific Wikipedia article, my hands are very slightly shorter than halfway between the male and female averages, yet are somewhat wider than halfway between the male and female averages. However, my digit ratio is darned-near exactly the female average with a ratio of 0.963

Does this mean I'm androgynous?

asked the guy with the female avatar

Lawl, but honestly I don't understand. Many many straight males from even the slightly otaku have female anime-styled avatars, commonly of their waifu. In my case it is technically of my "waifu", but I don't take the 'waifu' concept all that seriously like a hikikomori with full-body pillows and all would. I just think Rin is a cool and awesome character from a cool and awesome visual novel.

Is that so wrong?

As Simon of the Yogscast would say:

Ugguuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!!!!! :3

I've only seen around 10 or so videos of Yogscast and that was like a year or so ago. Personally the Mindcrack guys are much more of my flavor.

While these are excellent news ( I intend to buy one of these adapters just in case),my biggest concern is Devolution future on Wii U itself.

I mean that months have passed since Tueidj's last comment about his plans for the project.

What I am afraid mostly is that Tueidj will not manage to overcome the disc verification issue for Wii U at all...:(

tueidj hasn't posted since last year but Devolution has had at least FIVE revisions released since then. I do know that he edits the compatibility wiki but doesn't log in.

Also he made this post in regards to PSO in Devolution back in February:

My guess is that he doesn't like cookies or he doesn't like social interaction in general.

I think that he stated in his Youtube upload that " FYI I'm not "wanting" anything - I am already able to play gamecube games using the wii's/wii u's/ps3's bluetooth controllers, so telling me that it's not possible is rather redundant." but since then none of his public revisions support bluetooth controllers in-game.

My two cents are that the only thing that holds Devolution for Wii U from a public release is the disc verification problem. I guess...

But that seems silly considering even normal Wii systems could take advantage of such functionality. My guess is that he's currently using quite an inelegent solution that is not good for public release - perhaps controllers don't stay synced, need to be manually synced, or some other issue that make them work but not really be playable with?

No it's not real - the perspective of the Home, Plus, and Minus buttons are wrong. You can also see that for the Z button on the left side, the actual letter Z is mirrored.
