You may need to add a saves folder to the retroarch folder on your sd card. Saves are working for me after adding it.
Oh! nice, thank you for the info!

EDIT: Did that & it still didn't work. I'll look into it all tho for sure!

EDIT 2: Found out my save files are in an area in the retroarch folder. Retroarch/cores/savefiles but the game still doesn't pick it up.

Same deal here. In game saves are nowhere to be found and selecting 'save state' in the menu appears to do nothing...
Might be a messed up cfg file or something got corrupted. I played RE2 dualshock edition and ingame saves work. I downloaded the pack with all cores then made sure my old retroarch files are deleted and added new files from latest bundle. Unless its just one game i would not delete everything incase you do have saves working. And dont want to lose.

Good to know that it isn't just me experiencing this problem. Any time I try to load a game that has multiple tracks, it immediately crashes saying that there was an error, but then I am unable to access any other files through Retroarch. Then, when I close the software, the entire Switch error codes and forces a restart.

Any ideas what might be causing the issue? I am using .bin/.cue files to load my games. Should I switch to .iso or any other format? :O
A workaround is to use a .iso or .bin version of the game with the music tracks as separate files, then either delete the music files or load only the first .bin file (so that the game ignores the music tracks). The game will load albeit with no CD audio.

The devs are aware of the issue.

I've been installing the latest all in one stable packages without touching a thing. Games run fine, just saving is a no-go so far.

Edit: The games I've tried where saving fails are Medieval, FF7 and SotN

Yeah if its only certain games i wouldnt worry too much and just wait for a fix. And RE2 was a cue bin file not iso. So it might also be the issue.? I say dont worry too much and enjoy what you can

I'm trying RE1 directors cut. Save doesn't stick although i know where the srm file is going. Gonna try another game tho & see if it's maybe just RE.

Do you choose close content or quit retroarch to get out of the game ? I think i read somewhere if you choose close content you might get errors it is better to quit retroarch completely.

Yeah I think I read if you just hit the home button and you don't close from the retroarch menu your saves won't keep. Saves are working fine with my bin and cue re2.

THAT could possibly be my issue! I've been just hitting the home button, not realizing there's an actual way to close the games & such. I'm gonna give it another shot now & i'll edit this post if anything. Thanks guys.

EDIT: Yup that was my problem! Thanks again guys.

Is anyone having trouble with blueMSX? I've added the database/machines folders to the system folder (I've also tried putting them in a folder with the core in the switch folder) but when I try to run a game it just freezes up with no sign of the game and I have to power off by holding the power button for several seconds.

No idea what I'm doing wrong :')
