Noticed a weird effect in Mario All Stars (again, running 5.0.2). When you change between games at the select screen there's a weird dissolve effect on the left:

BTW unrelated question to anyone here. When I boot up using RCM, Hekate to run homebrew, my normal Switch games don't run, cartridge or eShop. is this is a normal thing? I'm assuming it's due to this being a rough build of Atmosphere, same as the sleep mode issue, just want confirmation.

Hey, that's the visual fuzz glitch thing I was talking about earlier. AFAIK it happens with all ported RetroArch cores on all ROMs.

Reboot and just don't start the hbmenu.

It feels for me like I/O performance drops to shit once it gets launched initially

The glitch is probably something vsync related

Only tested a dozen SNES games or so with Retroarch and this is the first I've noticed to have this issue. Other games are visually flawless aside from being in 4:3

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Not surprised. Atmoshpere/Hekate are pre-pre-release software right now, kinda lucky it even works.

Yeah, I suspected it was along the lines of the sleep mode issue. Not complaining, performance is still incredibly solid this early in the game.

The glitch happens in pretty much a lot of games, including SMW, SMW2: Yoshi's Island, Mickey's Speedway USA on Gambatte, etc.

Guys read the main post. Tearing etc is known

vsync is disabled currently

Ah, I remember seeing someone weird visuals with Super Mario Land on Gambatte a week ago, although it looked more like screen tearing

The new version with audio is amazingly stable. Just spent three hours in Mario All-Stars and can confirm the glitch which tbh is not a big deal at all.
I would only request two things:
Make analog usable by default in games
Enable use of ZL & ZR buttons as well in controls

Ah also thanks four the hb menu with touch! Always felt this should be the case.

Done in the next version! You can do your own configs then too!

Overlays anyone? Now my battery is empty!

Btw hb menu touch wasnt my code https://github.com/switchbrew/nx-hbmenu/pull/41 just saying!

I call that Version 0.8!

https://mega.nz/#!vtdCHZIT!7DfFM4hom_LI93PZF8dgjGpy-DLN0CNWtKSBNTy44vo

  • Added Overlay (disable by default via config)
  • Added default config (same folder)
  • Analog dpad by default!
  • Audio fixes (feedback pls)
  • Tearing is known, try setting vsync in the .cfg to true!
Just throw the folder into /switch and go!

Btw:

Retroarch Menu is now L3 + R3 (Left and right analog pressed in)
Saving states is R
Loading states is L

If anyone wants to work on custom overlays, MAKE SURE THEY ARE 1280x720

You are the man![emoji41]
The overlay rocks good!
Gonna check if the thud sound heard while opening a game is gone.
