Homebrew Desmume raw save file suport

Is there any version of desmume that reads/writes save files in raw format? And if there isn't one, would it be possible to compile/build one?

There are import/export options, that let you do that, import almost any available save, and export saves to raw format

I was asking about it cuz the version i have(the lastest nightly) is failing to import/export save files for some reason. However I figured a way out by simply removing desmume footer from the save using a hex editor.
