Is it safe to delete the system channels I never use? Obviously I shouldn't delete the Mii channel because some games draw on the Miis, and it might cause problems if the Mii channel and it's save data don't exist, and I wouldn't delete the shop channel because it may see use eventually. But I know I'm never going to use the Photo, Forecast, or News channels, and would like to delete them to free up their spots on the Wii Menu.

Is it safe to get rid of them with AnyTitle Deleter? On 4.0U

Pause the USB loader circle jerk for just a moment.

I'm excited about the USB loader that shows game boxart, has a pretty menu, forces NTSC, makes you coffee, and jerks you off too, but I have a quick question.

Does anyone know?

It will be fine, however you should have the disc update skip check somehow on your Wii (Preloader, some permanent NAND patcher) or else every disc known to man will want to have you install them again.

If I am not mistaken, the channels are indeed safe to delete. However, once you reboot the wii, the channels will re-appear. I remember someone else trying to delete the channels with anytitledelete and the outcome was the same once rebooted.

They're safe to delete, and they will not reappear with updates blocked. I got rid of all that crap a long time ago. The only Nintendo channels I kept are Mii and Shopping.

If you do figure out a way to delete them I'd keep the forcast channel..

The new Tiger woods game thats coming out that uses the wiimotion will use the forcast channel in the game.
You go to a specific golf course and it will check the real forcast for that area. If its raining there in real life it will be raining in the game. If its really windy, it will be really windy in the game.. etc

Well they're easy to get back, if what most people are saying is true that any game will try to "update" you to have them if they're gone.

Imma try it and report back.

Alright. I did it.

You can delete them fine.

They do not re-appear on reboot.

Games loaded via the USB loader do not attempt to install updates. I booted Brawl and Animal Crossing (both of which come with every update under the sun) and neither prompted for any updates or added the channels back.

Also, for anyone who finds this thread via Google or similar:

I deleted everything in the "System Channels" section except for HABA (Shopping) and HACA (Mii), and restarted.

I'm so pumped, NCAA football video game is back after a 10 year hiatus, coming to SeriesS/X, PS5 in July.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Wish they would let us play the NCAA football 14 on newer xbox, its one of the only games I love and own on disc still, that is not back compatible, bs.

@BigOnYa My dad recently bought a spare Series X off of me, got game pass, and saw Madden '24 on Game Pass, decided to try it out.

...He was a bit taken aback by the 60GB download size. Poor guy's still living in the 90s!

@K3Nv2 He was looking into consoles for his house anyway (for my younger siblings and himself) and I had a spare XSX and Switch I ended up selling him at pretty steep cuts. I would just give them to him, but I did buy them with the intent to sell them... and college is super expensive.
