Opening Notification got quite slow because the log is getting so big (full of Devil Survivor 2 streetpass notification).

I would like to erase/delete the Notification log completely.

Since there is no feature to do that "officially", I wonder if anyone knows where on the SD card (?) the notification log is stored, I would simply like to delete it all.

I'm not sure, but I think it is stored on the NAND...
The only way I can think of is to format the entire system. Maybe there is some other method to do that, but I really don't know how.
And actually, the notifications seems to be erased when they are too old, since I can't find the really old notifications that I got when I started my 3DS for the first time.
You can also try to opt out of some software notifications, since it doesn't disable the feature it's linked to.

Yes the point of this thread is to try to determine where it's stored (sd, nand?)
Formatting is out of the question ^^;

Well, I searched a little, and it really seems like it is stored in NAND : http://www.3dbrew.org/wiki/Home_Menu#Home-menu_SpotPass_usage http://www.3dbrew.org/wiki/News_Services
I think that just erasing the news.db should do it, but where it is stored, I have no idea. Probably in the boss extdata (even if I'm really not sure, this is just an assumption based on what I've read on 3Dbrew), and if that is the case, it is not possible to access it on 9.3+. So if you are on one of those versions... then you probably need to stop looking at notifications for a while :/

Thanks much for the great detective work Kawaii.
I'm on N3DS with 9.5 emunand (and the log I wish to delete is on emunand), so I guess I'm stuck for now.
If someone knows for sure where's it's located please spread the knowledge ^^;

Oh, if you're on EmuNAND, then it (probably) changes everything! When I said 9.3+ it was for sysNAND :p
You can (probably) dump your emuNAND with whatever CFW you're using, decrypt it, search for the notifications files (so news.db and some .txt / .mpo files) delete them, reencrypt it, and inject it! That should probably do it.
You can use a tutorial like this one to decrypt and reencrypt your emuNAND file (just follow the decryption / encryption part obviously). You need a 4.x sysNAND to do that, but since you can use emuNAND, you can downgrade without any problems.
