Trying to decrypt Yoshi with VGM toolbox as Uwizard throws an error. This is the EUR Venom release and I have followed the instructions but when I try to drop the wud in VGM, it shows a not allowed icon so cannot drag and drop it. Has anyone else had any luck getting this to work?

I'm using VGMToolbox r1012, and you need to drag it into the left column in "ISO/Archive Extractor".
(Don't forget you need the Wii U common key (ckey.bin; kkey.bin for Korean images) to be able to decrypt it).

Yeah, I'm on that version. After opening/reopening a few times could drop it but then app fails to respond. Left it for 30 mins as a large image but it never recovered :/

What's up with UWizard? What error do you keep getting?

It says an 'unhandled exception has occurred in the application' ' index was outside the bounds of the array'
Think I may just dl another copy to confirm it's not them image

Yeah, it might be a bad disc dump. Download a different copy of the WUD/WUX/ISO.

Are you sure you have installed all the windows packages cause without them they will not decrypt the wud> https://www.microsoft.com/en-GB/download/details.aspx?id=40784

Another issue lack of room on your hard drive (you need about 24GB of room to decrypt a full wud). Maybe you have entered the title key wrong to YWW EU (double check its) C740789881619E80EC2443DFC0C099AC

Have you put the common key in the correct folder and called it ckey alongside your title key called titlekey?

also I suggest using UWizard its a lot easier ;)

I thought PS4/5 and Xbox One emulation would be kind of easy since they basically just a PC
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
    they sorta are a pc
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They haslve dedicated on board chips that aren't tweaked like x64/x32 afaik
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
but its a custom os for both of them
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
    designed for only specific hardware
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
so you have to learn to emulate that specific hardware which isn't as easy as you'd think
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
It's a locked down Linux distro basically
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think the only custom hardware is to do with the SSD and a security chip
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Probably combined in one chip
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They place married security chips onto boards iirc

Didn't see much need for a console, all the advantages have kind of disappeared
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
the ps3 used to support installing linux because the cpu was so powerful
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Then the games are $70 and they want to reboot and refresh the same game every year
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
The ps3 was always Linux they just found a way to make it open source
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
I'm avoiding buying from the big 3 at all atm

At one point PC game pads where poorly supported, loading a game had setup, it was complicated. Now it's almost as easy as a console.

nintendo needs to up their game soon
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah even bt support for Xbox one controllers are just as easy as pairing

considering the steamdeck can emulate the switch (yikes) theres almost 0 reason to buy the switch apart from playing online and using cartridges

Xinput and 360 dongles were a driver nightmare
