"Sales of the Nintendo DSi on its home turf were way up this week after dipping into "just awesome enough" territory the week prior. Nintendo moved another 126K, according to Media Create.

Wii was up. PSP was down. PS3 was down. Nintendo DS Lite was down. Xbox 360 was down. PS2 was up. Look, that's all the color you're gonna get, guys. Sorry. Writing about hardware and software sales all day is mind-numbing. I'm going to go look at pictures of puppies or something while you enjoy this week's hardware chart.

    • Nintendo DSi - 126,648
    • Wii - 56,702
    • PSP - 54,782
    • PlayStation 3 - 30,309
    • Nintendo DS - 12,096
    • Xbox 360 - 9,988
    • PlayStation 2 - 5,743"

Um, maybe because it's an incredible console with tons of awesome games? It's not like Wii/360/PS3 are the ONLY consoles available right now.

i'm not denying that it's an incredible console, but i'd figure if you wanted one, you would have gotten it by now?! think about it, all casual gamers nowadays care about shiny graphics, and waving their wii around. those still dedicated to older games would have bought the damn thing years ago no?

I wonder why people still buy PS2 as well. I agree it has an incredible library of games, but it can easily be found anywhere. My cousin had 3 PS2's for some reason. He just gave one to me, but I never touched it yet. I still have to get it soft modded. I'll probably do this when I'm done with school.

I knew the DSi would be a hot item in Japan and is glad that I bought one just in time before there are shortages.

    Blame global cooling.
The PS2 is one of the easiest current-gen consoles to mod.
