You don't need to patch the game to play it, I've been playing without patches and it's, laggy. From what I can see it's mainly due to the amount of zombies on screen, not the exteriors which the patches also shrink down. I would like to see a patch that just reduced the zombies. You could also pick which patches you want, they all shrink the sizes but also reduce zombie count
I'd recommend just patching the bigger exteriors.
