Gaming Dead Switch

Hi , I got a switch tablet from market place the seller told me it suddenly stopped charging and it wornt turn on, is there a way to tell if the switch is totally dead or can i do something?

If i connect the switch to the power adapter nothings happens
If i connect the switch to the pc it is recognized in RCM mode, tegrarcmgui recognizes it too and apparently i can inject payloads(im new to switch so i dont really know what that really means), but still the switch wont turn on or show anything on screen

Clean the usb-c port real good. Plug it to charger overnight.

Do you happen to know if the Switch had AutoRCM installed to it?

I'm guessing it may be an ipatched console in RCM

Hold power button for 15 seconds and then power it on again?

i have no idea if it is patched or if it has any kind of hack, is there a way to get this info in the current state of the console?

Holding the power button and trying any other combinations of keys havent fixed the problem

the switch is currently connected to the charger but the screen is completly dark.

Do you know if the consoles that have hardware issues automatically enter the rcm mode? im curious that you can enter that mode even if the console doesnt show signs of life

Try connect the switch to your pc, if you hear the device connected sound on your pc (windows, not sure about linux) then you at least know its A) alive and B) in rcm (i think).

- Download Hekate and copy the bootloader folder to a micro sd card. Plug the SD to your switch. Keep the Hekate bin file on your PC.
- Press the power button for 15 seconds.
- Click + and Power button at the same time.
- Plug your Switch into your PC and inject the Hekate bin file via Tegra

Your Switch is unpatched bec of the serial number. You don't need to follow the guide anymore that you sent.

While SD card is still in the switch, can you go into system settings and then Data management. Can you look if it sees your SD Card?

while on the normal switch menu it gave me an error of sd format, and i formatted the sd card, in the data managment info it shows both the sd and the internal memory

glad that your switch booted. I'd recommend doing a nand backup using hekate btw

You can follow this guide. Make sure that your SD is at least 32 GB.

Format it from normal system settings and then back it up. Hack is hardware-based so it won't disappear.

format sdcard to fat32 using guiformat, do nand backup + boot0/1 and run lockpick_rcm to get your keys, use hekate or atmosphere and profit

I’d highly recommend using hekate to format the sdcard to fat32 over guiformat.

you can do so by selecting the partition option (I think it’s called that).
