So dead space 1 is on sale on steam today for $5, I've never played dead space before but I like horror shooters like F.E.A.R., Resident evil, and Dino crises (old i know I have fond memories from my childhood)
Anyway should I get it? My laptop can run it fine and all.

PS. I think this is the right section...as often as a frequent the temp i've never posted a meaningful thread

Well, it's a great game. You'll probably feel like playing Dead Space 2 once you finish it.

But have in mind that it's "this place is dark" and *shit jumps at you from nowhere* horror. You don't get the feeling of insecurity you get when you play Dino Crisis.

Edit: Way to bump

I highly recommend it!

I also bought it on the Steam sale and in the first 10 minutes I already jumped out of my seat a couple of times, even though I already played it for the 360 a year ago.

well thanks for the advice guys I bought it

and I'm surprised anyone remembered/played dino crisis ...was a great game

Dead space, yes.

Dead Space 2, no. I hated the second one. Not because of the difficulty (and yes, it's pants shittingly difficult on any difficulty), but because there is no suspense, instead of monsters being around every one in 4 corners, they are around every goddamn corner, and it fails to startle you at all.

I had to turn it off after 10 mins. I know 10 mins isn't enough time to judge a game but the camera angle pissed me off so much I couldn't take it anymore.

Come on, the GUI is just one of those things that makes things so good! It's the only horror game I completed, loved the atmosphere and graphics. Not to mention the bench upgrades. Give it another try, you'll get used to the camera in no time.
