Any chance we can see the PCB? It could be that the USB connector got broken off and there are alternative pads, or even the option to resolder the existing ones. Similarly that looks like a metal case so make sure it is not shorting out against the PCB.
Otherwise we are likely going to have to look at big boy electronics (as in getting another drive of the same type and transplanting it or otherwise reading the NAND chip). Such services tend not to come cheap if you have to pay for them.
