I wouldn't delete any IOS slots. They are not conflicting, so it doesn't bother.
the only issue would be limited space of the wii, but it's not that big. a savegame is bigger than IOS.
You can update BC and MIOS to latest version without problem without updating boot2.
I think if you update boot2 to v4 you'll have to reinstall bootmii, but it works with v2 to v4 so it's not a problem. I don't remember why I kept v2 and didn't want to update it. I'm often using "don't fix if not broken"
One thing I don't understand and don't know : what is your slot 255 ?
never heard of it, and it's the second time I see that slot on someone's syscheck.
it's probably a patched IOS to provide Flash access, but no idea which program install it, not which one use it, and for what purpose that AHB access or other cIOS can't do.
