Downloaded v1.7 Utility Disc for my brand new D2Pro. One of the options is to prevent updates from other, or all, regions.

Has anybody heard any feedback as to whether this is a reliable update-proofer or not ? Would be handy not having to remember to brick block each time I burn

I have a built in update blocker in my brain! Do I say "Durrrrr well its too late to do anything now" I guess I have to screw my wii up.. No!
If it asks me to update, I turn off the wii and eject my disk! Flippin amazing!

I'm happy to rely on my brain for this, but I'm not careless enough to assume that flatmates, friends, younger cousins etc, will be as prudent as myself in enforcing this. A lot of games don't necessarcilary(sp) get played my me first time round.

If the chip firmware can't be vouched for 100%, I'll be sticking to brick blocker to protect my investment in my Wii (as best I can).
