I got my brothers friends modchip in the mail today and in the Package came the D2Pro soldered onto the WiiClip, the little cable if you need to solder a point and a Ribbon Cable.

I have 2 questions, What does the Ribbon Cable do? I can see where it goes but I don't what it does.

Why weren't all points soldered on?

I bought it from modchipcentral if anyone wants too know.

Oh and sorry one 2 more questions.

Will the Wii-Clip with the D2Pro work with cut pins (just incase the pins are cut)?
And do I need to use the protect label that comes with the Wii-Clip?

I would also like to add on to that question,
Will the wiiclip heat the wii up? I read somewhere that it makes it have a heating problem. What are the chances of this happening?

Ribbon cable goes between d2pro9 and d2prog. Once thats done you can flash the fpga.

All points are not soldered because they don't all need to be.

Is this absolutely necessary? What does the flashing accomplish? Is there any tutorials or pics on how this is supposed to be done and what it should look like? Also, is this necessary if I download the D2Pro firmware and run it via DVD?

flashing can become necessary, if N release a game that wont work (like what happened with SMG), the FPGA loader code cant be updated via dvd only the SPI, so in that case flashing with the D2Prog will be needed

What will I need to install the flat ribbon cable? So far all I have is the D2Pro soldered onto the wiiclip, a thin wire that came with the purchase, protection sticker thing, the back-piece cardboard, and all equipment needed to open the wii. I also have soldering equipment. Does anyone have tutorials on how to do the ribbon install? Can't seem to find it on the d2pro site or wii-clip site.

While I'm at it, I was wondering the authenticity of my Wii Clip (no responses on one my other threads). The font of the "1" is kind of inbetween the fake "straight" 1 and the real "curved" 1. Anyone have any idea?
