Hacking D2Pro .. Or ... Wasabi V2 For D2C Wii

Well.. I have narrowed my choices down to D2Pro and Wasabi V2, for my D2C Wii.
Now I need your help...
Which one should i get..? Why?
Which is better??

D2Pro9 has more issues right now.

Both are good chips...

What are the issues with D2Pro9, as I have that now and haven't had any issues so far.. The only down fall I've noticed is that with SSBB you have to set the manual layer-break and with the WiiKey you do not..

You don't need to set layer break with any chips.... Some wiis are more fussy with media than others... Layer Break has nothing to do with that.

Issues.... there have been some reports of it killing drives. Pro modders talk this down - apparently it's very rare.

Other issues.... 'Eject' bug - drive refuses to spit out a disc when you press eject.. need to hard reset.
'Inching' - when the drive takes a disc, it very slowly takes it in bit by bit.
Region free doesn't work sometimes....

If you haven't heard of faults, you aren't looking in the right places.

I would go for the wasabi, its right now the only card I can see that has no hassle to update since D2Pro need a programmer.

oh, wow! Thanks for the enlightenment! I've had the Eject Bug but only after inserting and ejecting about 4 times.

As far as the layer-break, I was under the impression that it was neccisary for some chips because other people said specifically "WiiKey does not require a manual layer-break".

I've not burnt SSBB with a layer break ever... and have had it working with wiikey / wasabi / d2pro...

Wasabi and D2pro will both take dvd updates - but only for drivecode. FPGA on wasabi can't be upgraded...

That said, you shouldn't ever need to upgrade it. Unless you want to use the chip in a (yet to be released) drive model... ie D2C -> D2C2 update needed new FPGA code.
