what is automatic piracy patcher for,the only thing i can think of it being for is letting the cyclods work on a DSi,if not that than what. i wasn't playing my ds lite for a long time the last thing i did was update my cyclods to 1.51 for no reason because i had nothing to play at the time.now that gta is coming out i'm planing to update to 1.54 BETA 4.
can someone please tell me what is the purpose to piracy patcher.

EDIT
sorry for my topic title just noticed the last word wasn't fully written right.

its for the piracy checks on certain ROMs
Square Enix and some other companies are known for putting piracy checks that cause a game to be stuck and unplayable. Usually Narin comes out with a patch/cheat that allows us to bypass the piracy check.
supposedly, this automatic piracy patcher creates that patch for the protected game so you can play it without having to patch or use a cheat.

Has anyone here tested this to see how reliable it is? I don't play any of the Squenix games so I haven't run into that problem but it's only a matter of time before more companies start adding this bit of code in.

Before we know it we'll be back to having to find a certain word in a certain sentence in a certain paragraph on a certain page in the instruction manual just to let us play the game. Or we'll need that little red plastic decoder. Or a scratch-n-sniff card...

not just square enix uses it now, lotssss of companies.
and the beta takes the protection off of everything i have thrown at it.

I heard that it's not future-proof, because Mario and Luigi 3 was bypassed specifically, not using the built-in anti-piracy patcher.
So this thing is basically useless, there's just going to be a cat and mouse game between the flash card teams and the game companies.
