Hacking Custom IOS36 rev 08

Hello WiiPower. No, I don't have a modchip... just the new cios and backup launcher gamma... everything was fine until I installed the new cios... that's why i'm very upset when I tried to play Dead Rising... What do you think it may be the cause??

Red Steel runs fine in backup loader. (after patching to 249 that is).

Do you have the game, or do you report something you read somewhere? Please that's important information to me. Red Steel isn't working in SoftChip even with a modchip, if it would work in Gamma i would have another chance to improve SoftChip. If it works in Gamma there's a chance the latest SoftChip update fixed the game, but i need a test result for this.

I know people keep saying the compatibility list is redundant, but it states Red Steel works, so you could have know this...

okay english then solitaire and mahjong does not work on 002fix chanells or wan's rev8 cios...... black screen only

I only trust something like: "I have the game myself, i had to patch it to use IOS249 or else it wouldn't work at all. And it does only work when launched in Gamma directly and not in SoftChip. PS: I did't test the Gamma rebooter"

And i especially mistrust the compatibility list as it states too that Sam&Max works, while i know it only works with the rebooter.

Solitaire and Mahjong doesnt work with it or even with any 002 fix channell out there i tried every one but yet on softmii it works
all my other error 002 games run through rev08 cios but gamma and softchip even gamma reboot black screen with solitaire and
mahjong strange no go but yet if i patch it with gwp it works only sayin this cause my bros annd sis wiis only have gamma channells not putting softmii on there wii's i am using softmii v1 cioscorp v1 on my wii....

does this game have a different 002 offset when booting up that softmii can handle but gamma cant strange..... and really
weird..... maybe wanninkoko or wiigator can find out what it is...... I'm not a nube just thought everyone should know

Which channels don't use Waninkoko's cIOS while you have that installed? I know that the game only works with cioscorp from the disc channel, but i was(and still am) not capable to get any information out of your previous post.

omg it does have better compatability lol games get to use the ios there requesting instead of being forced to use a different one and you don't have to patch certain games to make them work like on the loaders.

tell me one game that does NOT WORK in gamma that works in cioscorp

Red Steel, SSX and Sam & Max Season 1. These may work in the Gamma rebooter, but as far as i know they don't work in Gamma, Gecko OS and SoftChip. To play these games if you have preloader you need cioscorp, or did somebody finally manager to get a menu patcher/rebooter to work with preloader?

those dont work in gamma 1:1....with IOS patching to 249 though, they do....and they may work unpatched on the newest softchip, no idea

they do work with cIOScorp 1:1, for sure.

I know that Sam&Max isn't working in Gamma. You need either cioscorp or 1. IOS Version patch the game AND 2. use the Gamma rebooter. Don't tell me game xy works why you don't have the game yourself, i'm really trying to improve SoftChip to load as many games as possible, and reports of games working in Gamma which actually don't work in Gamma, don't help. Maybe Red Steel and SSX work in Gamma, but i asked, because i don't know.

i patched my red steel to ios 36 ... it works with gamma that way just fyi...

That is nothing new, there is a bunch of titles that need to patch to IOS249, or any above IOS30 (I guess)

Well the fix for metroid is reading the whole titleID into memory and not just the 1st 6 bytes of it. Gamma already did that all the time, so the chance these games started working in SoftChip now was minimal. I'm just confused about people reporting Red Stell works in Gamma, or does even work for a softmod when IOS Version patched to IOS36. If that's true, there's a strange issue about that game, or there are different versions of the game around.

for some reason using cios 36 v2 mess up the dvdx instalation. Dvd's cannot be read with cios 36V2 while with cios 36V1 it just works like it should... So i don't know what has been changed with the new rev8. But lots of things just doesn't work like they did with rev7.

Hmmm...maybe I installed it wrong?

I have the .dol, loaded it with HBC and installed it. It said it was finished. Is there maybe a wad version? Thats how I put rev7. I guess I'll google and see.
