You can get it there.

I smell a mod...

You're probably getting snubbed as we speak.

I mearly linked to a website, not to the official content. If a staff member does something, which is unlikely, it will be a warning or a my post removed.

"snubbed"? care you explain what exactly that means?

Again there is no real reason to install this just yet wait until he adds stuff.Also waninko what is possible with a custom ios?

Wow, really Waninkoko, I'm impressed

you sure know how to create buzz , everybody now need this "Customz IOS" without really knowing why they need it

but as far as I know (please correct me if i'm wrong)

1/ there is nothing new from the previous patched IOS released and from recent PatchMii patches
2/ everybody's is smoking weed if they think this could let them run DVD-R WITHOUT a modchip

so, what is this noise about, really ?

I really like that custom IOS in the works, but I rather stay away from it right now. I have the looks more on the PatchMii gang.

@Everyone talking about a softmod/DVD drive:

The firmware on the Wii drive is probably read only, meaning that any modification to it isn't going to happen. An alternative would be to simulate the header in homebrew and force the drive to start at the first sector. Modifying the IOS could also allow you to redirect the syscalls to USB or SD.

In any case, this thread has gone downhill from all of the warnings...
I'm thinking like the PS2 softmod (I did it to mine). Maybe use the TP hack and make a GCOS or ESR homebrew.

the Gamecube drive worked the same way.. and if no drive softmod were ever released, there is a good reason for that: you can NOT defeat dvd drive hardware protection through software, nintendo just get this thing right (at least)

To be fair, the GameCube didn't have any internal storage like the Wii does. For example: Xbox1 softmod works great with the HardDrive but is a pain in the ass with a Memory Card.
