you need to use hacktool to extract the nsp files. The tool is outdated, so you need specific keys to use with it to avoid errors. The process is complex. Alternatively, you can use "Ultimate Material Hactool GUI" to help with unpacking an NSP. For repack you"ll need hacPack / hacPack-GUI to repack an NSP. This method is only meant to replace already existing files within an NSP. If one wanted to create a custom NSP with mods already included the control and main files would need to be custom built. I'm still looking into it to create custom self installing retroarch rom forwarders. Nintendo has put a tight lid on nsp keys and no one seems to want to share the information on how to do this.

Use Menu v0.12 Beta to make Forwarders in NSP format. It's what I use.

This is a standard forwarder, it only points to files pre installed beforehand. not useful when downloading from tinfoil from a random server.

Worth making a bounty for a sys-tweak update? I saw someone say on the Reswitched discord that it needs to be updated to use new functions, suggesting it's perfectly possible.

Me too, I updated because I needed to for awhile, but sacrificed the ability to use custom icons in doing so

I've been considering the same thing, but the lack of sys-tweak and less available memory for mods keeps me away. I can live without one game.

From what smarter people have said, it should be possible for it to be updated to work with new firmware functions, but nobody has done so yet. Still wonder if a bounty would help.
