I want to have multiple versions of Genesis Plus GX installed because I want custom settings per system, to save time from having to change the settings each time I play a different system game.

How can I have/create a separate custom forwarder from the existing forwarder I have installed? Is this even possible?

I'm using USB Loader GX as my frontend.

@RichWeb

For having a custom config file for each emulator copy for play a specific game or system (for example, if you want to make a custom Single ROM Loader of your game), you have to hex edit the name of the config file in the boot.dol file.

For the case of Genesis Plus GX, looking at the boot.dol in a hex editor the config file is named config.ini and it loads it from the folder device_root:/genplus/

For edit the name of the config.ini for get a different configurations/settings file per emulator copy in Genesis Plus GX boot.dol file, open it with a hex editor (I use
HxD Hex Editor), search for the config.ini text, and replace the text with a name of maximum 6 characters, plus the .ini extension.
FOR EXAMPLE: config.ini rename it to mygme1.ini, SegaCD.ini, MasSys.ini or SGSonc.ini

For different emulators they have different names and locations of the config/settings file, so it's worth looking in hex for ini, cfg, xml or anything else for edit the name of these.

If you're looking for a custom Single ROM Loader of Genesis Plus GX or any other emulator for Wii, here's a thread with my collection of them. And if you don't know how to use these for making custom single game forwarders for these emulators, here's a tutorial for do that.

Hope this helps ;)

Create a forwarder dol using modmii classic's advanced downloads page, enter the new path, build the dol. Then inject it into a copy of your current forwarder using customize mii (see modmii's download page 2), and also give it a new title ID and optionally name and other cosmetic changes.

If it were me I would use an alternate forwarder channel that looks totally different. There are plenty to choose from.

Here's a thread with a bunch of my forwarders, at the end there are links to other similar threads with forwarders made by others.
