Hacking Curious about this whole Counterfeit code thing

I have been WAAAAY off of the ball with the DS Scene lately, and im just curious what the point of this is? Does not checking have any sort of punishment or something? (Like blocking you from playing Roms or something)

Got mine back from when Shoptemp was still open (Acekard 2.i), so i dont really want to rip the sticker off just to see something if im pretty sure its already legit.

It's just a measure Acekard has taken to counter the cheap clones that have gone up recently. The one you bought from shoptemp does NOT have a code, has the measure wasn't introduced yet. The code's sole purpose is making sure your Acekard is legit. If it isn't, any decent store will refund you.
