HP very recently pushed a BIOS update for my laptop that patches the Spectre vulnerability. Meltdown was patched long ago by a Windows update since it doesn't require a BIOS update.

If you're interested if your Windows computer is vulnerable to Spectre and/or Meltdown, I highly recommend the cleverly named tool InSpectre.

Thanks Obama!
My computer is currently vulnerable to both. I have no BIOS update yet, and while there is a Meltdown patch for my CPU, i'm not about to update windows to v1709.
Seems to me like if they're updating XP to patch this, they should at the very least patch it on v1607.

Meltdown only requires a security patch to your operating system, and a patch exists for v1607.

It should also be noted that v1803 hit RTM a few days ago.

Thanks, I found it. And wow, another update. Yikes.
