Create FBI themes

You might've not known this, but FBI has a theme feature. It loads them from /fbi/theme.

Here's how you can make your own themes:
  • Download the FBI repo from Github. ("Clone or download" -> "Download ZIP")
  • Make a seperate folder for your theme, and put the contents of the "romfs" folder in the ZIP inside the folder you've just created. You can dismiss the rest of the ZIP.
  • Edit the images. Make you you keep them in the PNG format and don't resize them.
  • The text colors are stored in the textcolor.cfg file, they're formatted as hexadecimal ARGB (Alpha, Red, Green, Blue). Alpha "FF" means full opacity, so you would probably want to keep that.
  • Done!
You can zip up your folder to share your theme, and install it by putting the contents in the "/fbi/theme" folder (create it if it doesn't exist), and your theme will be in effect the next time you boot up FBI.

Here's a theme I've done myself:

thanks, i have been wondering how to do that ever since the dark theme was released

Yes, Dark theme that isn't just marginally darker or the GBA VC edition. I might also make my own themes too eventually.

I've noticed that almost all of the black themes released seem to have to scroll bar or selector. In order to get the selector to work you should use a semitransparent pure white image, at whatever transparency you desire. I used 30% in my theme. Shameless plug to my theme which does that here.

Welp I tried. Those who wanna download it for use, you'll find it attached to this post named "theme.zip". I actually tried to use this theme back when the feature was first released but it never worked. Turns out I had the image sizes wrong for whatever reason. Derp.

I also made new icons if anybody wants to use these for their themes.

How do you compile this? I have citro 3ds and devkit pro installed but I don't know how to build it. I want to build it so I can have a custom banner and icon, that matches up with my theme.

I don't know what you mean. All I literally did to make a theme was download the FBI master files, edit the default theme images from the "romfs" folder, and repackage it.

If I ever complete the two I'm working on I'll upload them here in a zip. Does anyone have any good background or wifi icons?
