Hacking Question Cracking the encryption to unban console CERTS

So correct me if I'm wrong, but if a big roadblock to unbanning consoles due to CERT encryption, and the encryption is exceptionally difficult to break. Couldn't those in the community with computers just collectively run software attempting to bruteforce it, similar to how hacking the 3DS works? Keep in mind I know nothing about this other than I remember reading a limitation to unbanning was the level of encryption involved in unbanning Switches vs. 3DS's.

you'd have better luck winning the lottery. we're talking thousands of years to bruteforce one certificate. moral of the story -- don't do something to get banned.

Not even the unified computing power of all computers on this planet would be able to break this in a reasonable time frame.

On 3DS sighax was only possible because of a bootrom bug making it effectively possible to fool it by bruteforcing only a small part of the signature.

But theoretically, if we could crack SHA-256, we could gain the ability to unban? And doesn't the Switch already have a BootROM bug in the form of fusee gelee?

I don't know, but every system is given a unique key at the factory, so nintendo has a database of legit ones.

Even if you could change your console certificate you would need a legit certificate to spoof it with, and if 2 certificates went online at the same time it would be banned.

Bans are a server side blacklist, there is nothing on a banned switch that prevents it connecting, it's all Nintendo's side.

I don't know if this is still a thing, but people were sharing games on the 360. however, in order to use a different profile/account, you had to log into live. it must've been a giant red flag that the same person was playing several different games at once. lol microsoft really has their shit together as far as this is concerned or even gaming with a jailbroken system. if you were to connect, you'd be banned almost immediately. though, microsoft kinda gave up on cfw for the dvd drive.
