Hello, I have been trying to mod my 2DS lately, something I had already done with a 3DS XL years ago.
And I more or less managed to do so, up until some point.
The problem is that I have made the error of purchasing suspiciously cheap SD cards to do so, and, of course the one I used ended up corrupting some of its data.

Now, whether the SD card (which I have replaced with a legit one in the meantime) is present within the console or not, whenever I try to boot it up it will show me an error screen, always the same error, proposing to either save the crash dump and turn itself off or just turn itself off.

I have browsed a few forums here and there, and while I can somewhat understand the root of the problem, I have no idea how to fix it given the most common fix is apparently to use GodMod, something I cannot do anymore for some reason. I can access the update system menu but that's about it, the console will still turn off afterwards.

Embedded below (with some luck given my account is apparently too new to post pictures), a photo of my console featuring the error screen in question.

I would greatly appreciate some advices if anybody knows how to fix it.

Not sure why you're referring to it as a "cracked system". That's not terminology people usually use.

Anyway, your starting point should be https://3ds.hacks.guide/troubleshooting-post-install.html and more particularly https://wiki.hacks.guide/wiki/3DS:Error_screens/Luma3DS_exception_screen#ns .

More particularly, does anything different happen if you turn on the system without an SD card inserted?
My apologies, cracked is sometimes used as a synonym for hacked where I'm from, with much less negative connotations, but looking back it would have been wiser to simply say "modded", old habits die hard. Point is, the console is homebrewed, I just had troubles when it came to the finalizing step, when GodMode started to show an error message at random points due to data being corrupted thanks to the previous faulty SD card.
I have checked the links in question before posting this thread, thank you though.
And, I think I did not make myself clear enough in this post, for which I apologize once again, but no, the same screen appears without an SD card inserted.

Yes, it would be a bit of a waste of time to suggest things you've already tried, wouldn't it..?

How exactly have you been trying to access Godmode9?

Also, did you test the "legit" card with h2testw?

Absolutely no need to apologise cracked is exactly the terminology used in my country along with hacked/modded as well. I sometimes think people forget the internet is international and people/Countries have different words for the same thing lol.

Anyhoo sorry I can't help ya with your 3DS problem.

First is to check the sd card for errors with h2testw (the link is in my signature).
Empty the contents somewhere safe on your pc before doing the test.
The sd card has to be empty, run h2testw, click on "write & verify" then let it do its thing. It will tell you if your sd card is gpod to use or if it's faulty/fake.

After you checked the sd card, format the sd card as Fat32 32kb cluster size, and copy the latest Luma3DS to the root of the sdcard, and GodMode9 as well, then power on the system and see if you can access the home menu.

I did test them, both the old one and the new one, with h2testw, thanks for the advice nonetheless.

Oh, I didn't think of that save for the formatting, thought just transferring the files from the previous SD card would do the trick, I'll try that later, thank you.

Try pressing and holding select while turning on then on the configuration menu make sure "Hbmenu autoboot" is set to off.

Edit:

Forgot to say you might have to do this with both with the sd inserted and without. I might be wrong but everytime I have seen this error it is because of that setting.

You'd need Luma3DS on the sd card to access the home menu. I suggested to put GodMode9 too since you might need it, if having Luma3DS alone there didn't help (i.e. corrupt system files).
Oh, don't copy your data back until you fix the issue.

You're a lifesaver, I can now access the console, thank you so much. I'll see if I come across any other issue while trying to finalize the setup once again.

Alright, the console cannot access the SD card so I assume I'll just have to take care of that (re-formatting and re-installing Luma, Godmode and whatnot) and I should be good to go. Not to celebrate too early but I think my issue is solved for now. Thank you all for your insights.

... You realize that was in the link in my first post? The one you said you already checked?
I did check it, I scrolled through the page searching for something that fit what I was dealing with according to each section's title. However, in my haste, I did not, at the time, notice anything. Anyway, it's all settled now, I'll deal with the rest myself.
