I take it Don's off to bed? Hopefully that video reset works for him. If I had the cash I would pay for some more equipment to get this stuff organised better.

Looking forward to final alpha4 hopefully in the next couple of days as I am sure all you guys are.

Don, keep up the good work

i no longer have a wii...
i lend it to my brother and he managed to fry it (god knows how)... i'm so fucking mad.
it was one of the xmas gift i made to my gf.
damn, i want to kill him...

Edit2:
anyone knows a link on how to fix a "no video signal" issue. i can't even check with another scart cable as i don't have one near me. i'm praying GOD that it's only such an issue and not a brick.
Sorry to hear that man
frown.gif

This is why i never lend anything to anyone..hope it works out for you..I'd be getting him to replace it though... His fault, his responsability...

With the crash though.. i HAVE renamed a few of the games on the HDD, but i don't think it was any of the ones that is causing the crash.
Maybe you could implement a different way of getting the title? maybe a titles.txt like the other loaders? see if that helps? or temporarily disable that feature to see if that's the cause..
You're probably way ahead of me though cos i ain't no programmer

Hey Don, just wondering what the plans are? I have been keeping an eye on the other coverflow loader progress and tested out the last two releases, however I am not sure I agree with the direction they are going just now, I think it's looking a little rough, which is to be expected and hopefully Gitkua and Killnull will get that side fixed up.

I think if you could get the coverflow working that they are using and implement it in here but alter some parts, then it would be really quite nice. Maybe their loader will work and end up like that, but right now I'm not too sure. I think the image size is a little big and due to the rendering or whatever is used, it's making the textures pixellated beyond usefulness.

Like I say I think our loader, with the coverflow implemented into the central part with some slight modifications to size and what does what, would work really well together.

I know your probably wanting to focus on the new one now as it has basically what we need, let me know what your ideas are though

I posted these on the new coverflow thread that Nullkill is working on, but I think people get a little offended when you step on their toes with ideas sometimes. I can appreciate that though so I will keep clear and don't want to cause or stir up trouble.

This is what I posted as I thought it would be the ideal merging of ideas and if Don can implement the following, even if it means using new tools and libraries, then I think this would be a loader that people would want:

Main page when just scrolling games. As you can see the centre image would always be larger and with a place-holder to give a proper box like look to it. It would scroll through the games as in coverflow using the IR pointer or the scroll bar.

This would be what comes up when you press A on the main image. It would allow you to see some details of the game like size, name and any additional details that people wanted there. You aim with the IR pointer and press Load to load the game or Cancel to go back to the scrolling through games.

select.png

Finally, when you press B on the Wiimote, this settings page would show up, giving you another look at the selected game, maybe even adding in the ability to flip the case to see the back cover. You would use the Options Menu to set options for the loader and on a per game basis and save it to a txt file. At the side of the Options Menu, you could use a scroll bar as you can see in some other loaders available, and have numerous options.

As I say I know this would require new tools and coding from Don, so don't expect it soon, unless Gitkua takes my ideas and utilises them in the other loader, which I would be really happy if he does. If not then hopefully Don and you guys like the ideas, but if not let me know what you think or what you would like added.

Cheers and hope you enjoy

hi all!

so how is it going? you told me to wait for the alpha 4....

hey, Don K and Cd i can test that app if you want to, just PM me.

here what i ve got:

wii 3.2 U
Preloader 0.29
about 40 games (PAL,NTSC, NTSC/J) on a WD 400 Gb
Cios rev 10
wiiconnect : off

(and i'm french, so i could easily talk to DK)

Hey bebs.

you need to check with Don, not sure when he will be around but it's his loader he coded so it's his choice.

He is a reasonable guy though so you never know. I'm not actually sure where he is at with the alpha4, the new loader on the other thread has kind of thrown people off a bit I fear, but hopefully we can get some status updates today.

okay thx,

btw, i don t like the new way of this project (theme) it looks like another usb loader hanging around.;. ( don t remenber the name)

i prefer the old one(with 7 coverflow in 3 D)

Hi all, will the new one have force ntsc on it? i have a few pal games that was sent to me for my daughter from my mum in the UK, they load up fine with another loader, would be great to get this on
your loader.
thanks

I have made both the Cancel and Load buttons, on and off states, looking nice. Also made the transparent boxes with curved edges for and if the loader is able to include them at some stage.

I think for the current config, it will look better with this instead of the generic looking square box. I tested it and looks a lot nicer. I just need the loader to match the coordinates and sizes so it fits properly.

We have all the images available on djtaz's site so I'm ready for what is next. I still think it's important to finish off the 2D style for now as it's is almost done in alpha4, so may as well tweak that, release it and give people something to use while a fully functioning and improved loader can be coded and made.

Had an pm from usptactical about helping out on the loader if we go in the direction of making a proper coverflow, so it's just up to Don if we go ahead and where we go next.

Don I know your probably busy, so will see you when your around. You should have got my pm anyway so there was a bit more in there and I look forward to speaking when your back around
biggrin.gif

cd: i think the 'window' int he first image needs to be a little less rounded likethe other one.. they should match each other..
smile.gif

just my 2 cents..

Hey guys, i'll tell you what! this loader is already the best i have tested yet, and all these new ideas
that are going into it,............man it's blowing my mind, i can't wait until the final one is out.
i know there are going to be a few more beta versions, but it's exciting to see all this come together.

thankyou DK & CD. (i guess i'm doing a little crawling huh? lol)

lol, not at all, we love the praise
wink.gif

On a more serious note though. Yeah I agree the images are just mock-ups of what I had in mind, so don't expect them to look exactly like that. When I make the graphics, (which I already have), I will be making sure they are equal and look right. Not too square or too rounded.

Don, in case your at work and can see this. I have positioned the console in the settings page to balance it out a little better. The new coordinates will be:

CFG_CONSOLE_XCOORD = 260
CFG_CONSOLE_YCOORD = 140
CFG_CONSOLE_WIDTH = 332
CFG_CONSOLE_HEIGHT = 220

I have kept the same size of console but tell me if you want that changed as the rest will need to be altered to match coordinate wise to stop it looking off balance with items on the page.

Cheers

I already thought I had posted this but I realise I was wrong. This is an icon for your apps folder so you have a nice little icon for Homebrew channel when you load it up and you can clearly see what the app is your loading.

Put inside the folder where your boot.dol is:

ok just throwing some good news.
it appears that my wii ain't bricked nor broken, it was just that my tv scart ain't decoding the video signal.
i just have to found another tv to make my debug since i can't use the main house one.

by the way, i was contacted by usptactical and we decided to team up our efforts.

QUOTE said:
I've been working on a 3D coverflow loader in my spare time for about a week now and have it to the point where it looks about the same as cddreams current mockup - with the big center cover and the others on the sides.
I started to integrate it into the Configurable USB Loader code, but then I saw his mockup. Since that's what I wanted mine to look like, I thought I'd offer my code to you guys if you want it.
I didn't use GRRLib like that other coverflow loader, I coded all the GX stuff myself - but after looking at the GRRLib source, it looks about the same.

like i said, i ain't got no tv to test my code so it might delay the release a little bit more (yep i know, seems like an excuse and no, i won't be out AFTER duke nukem...).

I'm in too guys if you need me! very Ssrry for you DK, if you live nor far from me (68), then i would let test your wii on my TV
wink.gif

I think too that using simple computering of values is faster togenerate graphics (instead of libs...). Needs somme reflexions though ...
