Yeah I dunno, it didn't seem to matter what game it was for me, as soon as I pressed maybe 6 times either way, it would crash and do the green screen bug. I had already downloaded all the covers though using the auto-download setting.

Not sure how good an idea that reflection idea is, I think it could work but it would mean making every cover again by hand to include what was needed. Maybe a bit too laborious.Unless someone wants to take on the challenge.

If the loader has customisable coordinates though, then if you only have a handful of games, you could just do it and then you would have reflections as you would just fix the coordinates and the game image sizes. Ideas I suppose, I will keep trying new ones so it's not dead yet for me.

My brother also had an idea with regards to getting reflections to work. It's a crude but simple solution that shouldn't really affect the loader at all. Funnily enough I actually thought of it already but was distracted with other stuff and didn't pay it more thought.

The idea was to simple alter the game images to have the reflection as part of the image itself. Then just make the backgrounds to fit in and in the loader adjusted to accommodate the slightly longer images, so instead of say 66x93, they would become something like 66x113. That would give about 20pixels of reflection. Dunno how well it would look but it could be worth a shot in future. It should work since the area the extended part would be has virtually no gradient there.

...

You realize I had that same idea a few pages back, right?

Sorry, my main PC is installing Windows 7 so I've spent the last couple of hours figuring out how to install unrar on a linux pc from 1995 and ftp it over to my Wii..

The same thing happens with the new version you sent me.. same place, too.

i think that we should stick to the current method for now.
keep in mind that in the end, we're gonna share the same folder with the other loaders (at least with oggzee's and ultimate one) to avoid having 5 times the same covers.

edit:
@pep:
weird... did you have all the covers downloaded or some were missing?
check (on your pc) if some of the them are not corrupted or something like that

cd:
check your pm and tell me if it's working for you or not.

Will do, gimme 5 mins to test

And yeah I agree stick to the current images and stuff for now. I was just bored in the house lol, so thought I would try it out.

I'll take a look when I get back on my Windows pc... my linux one doesn't have an SD card reader, so it's a pain in the neck.

however, i think that i'll keep up with the dev and try to fix this later with the help of other coder here or anyone who got time too.
might release the source in the end if it may help fix this bug.

RVRPKG
RLTXUG

These 2 are 404 bytes... I'm not sure what games they are but that might be why it's crashing.

Edit: And here are the oontents:

Additionally, a 404 Not Found

rvrpkg is " Rebel Raiders Operation Nighthawk".
it used to make errors on me too because the cover didn't existed on djtaz cover site (but it is now as someone uploaded it)

rltxug might be "London Taxi" hour rush or something like that, it used to be corrupted for Sledge1 i guess. try to delete them and then reload them off the net with the loader.

edit:
i'm gonna write a little routine that's gonna check if the file we're loading is really a png or not.

Don, tried that new boot but no difference. The thing is you can scroll up and down and it works fine, only when I scroll left or right. After about 5 - 10 pushes either way it will crash. So it's not a killer if you use the up and down till you find a game within that 7 list of games shown on screen, but if you try to scroll further you will get the crash.

I have all the covers for mine just so you know, so I am not sure if that is the issue. I went back and checked alpha3 and no issues, so maybe it's something since you added the up and down scrolling, maybe it's causing some kind of conflict.

Sorry if you mentioned that idea already with the reflections, as I say my head was in other areas so I probably saw it but was pre-occupied elsewhere and never took it in fully.

cd:
hold on. you mean that you can scroll ALL your games with up or down without crashing it?

i don't get it, please explain it with simple words (even if i can speak english very well there's still some idioms that i don't get.)

pep:
please try scrolling your games with only up and down.

OK, I renamed the cover and small folders and turned downloading of the covers off and I still get the error at the same spot, so it has nothing to do with the covers.

You added the ability to change a whole set of 7 games at once by pressing up and down yeah? Well using up and down, the loader does not crash. Essentially you can change 7 games at a time until you find the game you want within that group of 7. Then I could just push left or right a couple of time and select the game.

If I use only left and right to scroll through the games one at a time, then after about 5 to 10 times pushing either left or right, the loader will crash.

So yes using the loader as intended will cause it to crash, but until the fix is found you can still use the loader as long as you know to use up and down to change the 7 visible games at a time till you find the game you want. It's inconvenient but it will work as a temp solution.

Hope that makes a little more sense

I've understood your meaning Cd. only left/right moving does to crash...maybe no enough memory space or time to load all covers correctky!

damn that's so funny... nobody is experiencing the same thing.
no bug for me at all (i can scroll left/righ/up/down for barely 5 minutes without experiencing a crash)
no up/down bug for CD.
all bugs for you... remind me, which sytemmenu are you on?
