I converted all the NTSC-U images for the 3d covers last night. Just working on the NTSC-J and PAL at the moment, they will currently only be for a white background but I can easily make a black background pack after. I posted my main and config.png a few pages back. As for my settings.txt I didn't change a single thing from what was in the file.

@hunter
I just got myself all confused lol, ok in your sd:/usb-loaderAB/ do you only have those two png's? or do you have others in there too?

@LoPelut
I think there has been some confusion regarding the image sizes. As you will see at the start of this thread it turns out it really doesn't matter what size the images are. The multiple of 4 rule is for where the X co-ordinate is for each image, it needs to lie on a coordinate like 12. If it lies on 13 for instance it will cause a code dump. So the images size isn't really an issue in that regards.

I understand people don't want lots of different sized images on their SD cards, but that really isn't that big an issue, I myself only plan to have 1 loader, so it's really something you might have to choose between.

Ok, sorry, I didn't see them till now. But, covers on background has to be deleted, right? Or covers are drawn over the boxes?

no, in the AB folder there are config.png, config.txt & main.png. and in the AB Folder are the folders covers small & background

lePelut, when you say covers on the background, do you have the example.png where is have the game images already showing on it?

The main.png should be like this:

1D.png

If have main.png and the config.png as the only png's there then it should work.

With a bit of customization thanks to the 3d covers courtesy of NeoRame found here I was able to recreate the below on my Wii using this loader

It took minor editing, but I got the covers to load perfectly both big and small. I just made automated Photoshop batch scripts to adjust all the files in one go, filling the transparency with a white layer and adjusting the sizes to match this loader.

mymain.png

Ok, my first post here, so hello everybody and excuse my poor english.

Only 2 things to say about this loader: it fits my needings perfectly and is as minimalistic as Wii itself, I really like it.

@Wiinublet: I't possible to post your backgrounds and settings.txt for 3d cover version? I really like it!!

@DK: Ok, don't get this comment as an offense, but... this loader is based on GPL (or something like that), isn't it? Maybe source has to be redistributed with dol? I know it is your work, but is also based on a great job of another people that wants this to be distributed... Again, don't get this as an offense. It's only a comment.

One suggestion: why not to make cover dimensions standard? I mean, there are some other loaders that loads covers sized on multiple of 4, this one seems to be the one that does not follow this measurements... I mean, if I want to use more than one loader (yours cannot install games by now, for example), I have to spent a lot of space on my SD to store the different covers for the different versions... In your case, you only have to add 1 pixel on width (this means 7 pixels on whole screen...) I think I'm not the one with this situation, it can be profitable for everyone.

Again, great job and (IMHO) keep following this style, don't fill the loader with a lot of options (as UL-GUI for example). There are another loaders that will do it.

Where can I get this fucking awesome good loader ?

Here is also a preview of my more detailed main.png

What games aren't working with rev 10? I have 90 games loaded and all functioning with rev 10.

can u please upload your nice themed CoverFlow Mod ?

@LoPelut:
thisloader is based on an open source like project, not gpl. so those rules don't apply here.
if you ever want the source, try to search for it.

@MaGost:
you need cIOS36rev10 to make it work and if you have strange backgrounds/pictures it's because there's a path issue.

The dimensions are the same as almost the other loader (160x255 and 160x224 for another one).
And it's planned for the official rev9 or rev10 version to use the same directory for all loaders. it seems logic to me: i ain't gonna have several folders with almost the same pictures filling up my sdcard.

Please just wait, it's just an alpha version to test and make sure that users don't get confused by all those files. in the end there's gonna be 2 folders:
- sd:/apps/coverflow7 or usloaderDK (the main app with config.txt and such)
- sd:/usloader/ for all the rest (covers and small pictures...)

@atupac:
thanks for providing such infos (merci mec).

@hunter:
you got me puzzled...
wink2.gif

i don't understant why it's not working since it obviously managed to load the black background.
so it means that loading from the sdcard is fine. the only thing i can see is this line (in the config.txt):
download = 0

it tells the loader not to download the covers from the net if they don't exists... and displays instead a default "noimage.png". it shouldn't display the wanin's "noimage" picutre.
try to edit the config file to "download = 1" and set your wifi. post back any results.

i've set the option to 1. the loader starts and opens my internet. it says internet connection stands (or something xD, so internet works) but then i get an code dump

Hi all

great work.
I follow this loader since few days and great perspective for the final.

Just a remark for DK :

I think you are wrong you certainly use wbfs.c portion code and this code is in GNU license.
I am not for you release your beta code but the final. If a make mystake i apologize

@Jodiskett:
yeah i know, i was just bitching... guess i'm still mad from yesterday. i'll release the source, i'd be an asshole for not doing it.
and i'm quite sure that when i'll do, we'll have new coders making bits and bobs that will make it even better. so don't worry, it'll be released in time.

@hunter:
then, i don't get it. try to rename your APPS folder to lowercase (apps), i know that some libs are case sensitive. for the life of me, i ain't got no idea.
