r1051 now available for download

Changelog:
fix missing cover bug
improved disk access
improved cover refresh after download

As always, please test and post feedback - it's the only way things will improve

Hmm... Depressing: I'm posting updates but hearing nothing back... Oh well... I'll keep the updates coming anyway:

r1054 is now available for download

This rev brings an "update" feature to the loader. Just go to Advanced Settings and click "Update" button to check for a newer version and install it.
Obviously, you'll have to wait for the next update to really see the benefit of this but it will come!

Hi fishears,

I tested r1051 and it seems OK (but I do not have cIOS19)

This evening I will try the r1054 version...

By the way, I took care about the italian translation of CoverFloader (I was contacted by LoudBob).... just tell me when I have to update something ...

thanks Cambric
All test results are welcome. I've compiled with devkitPPC r20 and the latest libfat & libogc so it's worth testing on any cIOS. What sysmenu are you running? As for translations - I'll hold you to that offer!

Hi fishears,

I rewrote my signature with my system data, I do not know why it has been cancelled...

I have now in my SD CoverFloader r1036, r1051, r1054

sometimes my Wii hanged with r1051 and r1054, at the very beginning of the loader boot (black screen before the "welcome in coverfloader" screen) or closing it pressing the "Wii menu" button.

Another strange behaviour: I have CoverFloader set in Italian language, but r1054 for 5-6 times booted in english and never saved the italian language preference (I set the language again of course). Then I tried again r1036 and after that also r1054 boots in italian (when it does not hang the wii)

I do not know if these problems are lelated to te loader or to the SD, actually I have no problems with Configurable, GX and WiiFlow...

I saw in the SD:/usb-loader/ folder a new one named HQcover... is it a CoverFloader folder? if yes there is no way to set a different path in the config options...

Re the translation, CoverFloader was the second loader I translated (after GX and before WiiFlow and Configurable), hence it is a pleasure to continue the activity...

I tried also the use of FAT32 and NTFS devices, but CoverFloader still accept just WBFS partitions....

It will be fine to see the FAT32 compatibility...

Thanks for all,

Cambo

Yeah, HQCovers is just for testing right now: It shouldn't affect anything else.
I'm hoping to get at least FAT support included soon (possibly more)

BTW are you really using 3.3E and cIOS14?! If so, why? I'm using 4.2E and cIOSX19...

Everything works on 3.3E, no reasons to upgrade to 4.2E...
Re the cIOS, I upgrade when everything is stable... I felt no reasons to move to cIOS17, while cIOSX19 is a little bit confusing (install it using IOS57 as suggested, or using IOS36, IOS38, etc etc)... I am waiting to see...
I do not wanna brick or make unstable my son's wii...

I tested r1054 and my Wii also froze when starting it once (out of 5-6 attempts), also, downloading covers returned an error that my local IP address couldn't be resolved. When I did a connection test in the system menu everything was fine and after I launched Coverfloader again the covers were downloaded without any problems. I wasn't able to reproduce the error since. Another thing I realized was that the 'Edit GameID' text was somehow cropped (see this image). I'm not sure if it's my TV or if this error is new, since I never used this function before.
For information: I'm using system menu 4.2e with cIOS38 rev 14 (will update to cIOSX19 either today or tomorrow) and HBC 1.06.

Finally, thanks for the updates, they are greatly appreciated!

r1055 now available.
It adds support for custom disk art from wiitdb.com - this will be downloaded if an original disk image isn't available.
Not a big change but it tests the update function

Tested r1055...

it seems working, even if it loaded in english language overriding the saved italian language preference...

By the way, I upgraded to cIOS249 rev17.....

Just trying this loader out for the first time and the autoupdate feature is very nice!

the only other thing I'd like to see is the FAT support so we can move all the covers and disc art to the external usb drive.like the other loaders..

also you might want to get in contact with the guys at We Brew Wii or wiibrew as I only found out this was updated when I stumbled on the German site wii-homebrew.com..

but I will continue to follow this loader as I am very impressed so far

Thanks. FAT support high on the list.

I know Wiibrew don't report on loaders and I don't think I've seen any on Wii Brew Wii either - I need to find somewhere that will....

A little off topic, but is CoverFloader supported by CRAP to make custom System Channel Fwds for direct USB game loading??
unsure.gif

Give it a try and report back.... Crap only runs on Windows AFAIK so I can't test it but in theory you can put a Coverfloader dol in Loaders directory and edit the crap.cfg accordingly...

I will have to go and find a PC now... unless someone comes up with a OSX Direct Game launcher app..

r1056 added to updater.
This just brings initial USB Keyboard support to all functions that use the on-screen keyboard.

I AM working on FAT/NTFS support but it's not easy and there's only me - still, I'm confident
