Gaming Could Layton vs Phoenix Wright be a movie?

I'm sure you've seen the trailer for 'Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright'... But did anyone say it is actually a game? Do you think it is possible that it's a 3D movie released for the 3DS?

Really? That's the dumbest idea you've heard? Pretty sure that's one of the dumbest things I've heard...or maybe you just live under a rock.

But anyway, this is a game. I'd love for this game to have a movie. You can still figure things out on your own without having it be an interactive experience. I believe it would be part of the mystery genre, which the PW and PL games are kind of related to.

Looking at the trailer, I can see why the OP thinks it might be a movie. It would be a pretty badass one if the trailer is any indication. But I think it might be the best of all three worlds: Badass movie (cutscenes) mixed with badass Layton game (puzzles) mixed with badass Ace Attorney game (courtroom antics). Either way, just wait and see. We'll find out more eventually.

The devs have released statements about the gameplay. You coulda taken two minutes to look around before making wild guesses like this is an entirely new thread.
