Pretty much. I was thinking it might be a problem with a Short Filename / long filename asscoiation. "Dragon Quest IV Chapters of the Chosen.nds.sav" should have had SFN DRAGO~01.SAV associated with it, but as there was already another file DRAGO~01.SAV it would have had a different SFN. The SFN of your ROM should be DRAGO~01.NDS and I thought for some reason AKAIO might have been using the SFN instead of the LFN.

All you can is see if you save works on someone elses game, otherwise it's.... start again from the beginning.

Upload it rapidshare, mediafire etc.

It's probably corrupt anyway, and in case it's a MicroSD card error I would back up all of your other saves.

Thanks again for your help tk_saturn and Hakoda, if either of you or anyone else for that matter would like to try, here is the save that just won't work.

Tried it, game booted and when I selected continue game, I found 3 unused slots.

If I was in your position, I'd run a recovery program such as Recuva on my MicroSD and find the last DQ IV save that works and play off that.

I tried Recuva, now riddle me this; why is it that all of the DQ IV saves have been overwritten with DQ V.nds files? Come to think of it... when I tried to play it last night, I think I accidentally picked DQ V. So I reset, and went back in and that was when DQ IV wasn't working

Alright, I didn't want to start up a new topic cause its still about DQ IV. I went back in on my old file, I'm about 6 hours behind. I turned on cheats for the very first time (Thats right, I don't cheat when I play

) I enabled some extra coins and EXP multipliers to make up for all that time spent training. On the cheat menu (just cause I've never done this before) I selected 'X' for Rebuild and 'Y' for Sel. DB at least once. Should I be concerned about this? The R button for some reason stopped working in game too...
