ROM Hack Converting saves between ROMs

Is there any way possible to convert SAV files to different regions(E/U/J) of the same ROM? I just don't want to lose my progress.

Let me see if i got this right u want to convert sav files of a Rom and use it on a different regions version of that Rom if so how bout u check and see if your data loads on E/U/J version of that Rom 1st ?

Tried that first, it didn't work even after I renamed the SAV so that it was the same as the other ROM.

I just don't want to lose my progress.

Wouldn't it be easier to just continue playing the version you started?

Yes, converting saves depends on what game are you using, if it's Pokemon then changing the name of the SAV file should do the trick.
