I'm having a weird issue with my PS4 controller. It is detected by my PS3 and PC fine over USB. However, the PS4 fails to detect the controller over both Bluetooth and USB. It just sits there slowly flashing orange when connected over USB.

Any idea what could be causing this?

USB is the only thing that works fine. It's Bluetooth that's broken.

I bought one of those new Dualshock 4 V2 controllers (that come with the slim and Pro) and that works fine.

Currently the Dualshock 4 only communicates with the PS4 via Bluetooth even when "charging" via the usb cable. The cable only helps with charging and syncing. So of the Bluetooth is shot you need to repair the unit to get it to work with the PS4 again
