Witch one do you prefer to play games with.

I personally prefer the control pad.
I mario party I only like to play minigames with the control pad, only play some with stylus.

It really depends on the game, but in the few games that have full functionality using buttons or the stylus I'll usually use buttons. Moonshell is an example of this.

EDIT: actually, moonshell doesn't have full functionality with the stylus...

Depends on the game really... but the control pad on the DS is so horrible that I usually opt for the stylus.

unless it's a stylus based game (like kirby: canvas curse) I like to play my DS games with the buttons only.

I'm not a fan of developers that throw stupid touch-based minigames in their titles to make use of the DS' gimmick.

When done well, i love touch controls. Otherwise, I'm a button man.

Just look at Phantom Hourglass, great game with stylus controls.

But if it's something that you want to be good, or even best at - the control pad is probably the way to go. At least in my case because a stylus circle can easily become a square or whatever in a hurry

Control Pad...your left (or right in some folks case), don't cramp from holding it after 10 minutes.
It's more comfortable using the control pad...

I prefer D-Pad
The Stylus is very innovative but in lot of games i have disadvantage as an left hand player -__- especially in shooter games i hate to control the protagonist with the ABXY Buttons

I love when the game can be played just with the stylus.. so I can play it in bed

Like: Games that are either Control Buttons only or Stylus Only.
Hate: Games that are hybrid Control Buttons and Stylus.

Example: NANOSTRAY. Seriously, the only functionality of the stylus was to change weapons... WHY? It made the game so much more gimmicky and annoying to play.

For the most part, I value both equally, but preferences tend to change in different games. There are simply games that make little use of the stylus and others that make little use of the d-pad. For example, I never use the stylus when I'm chasing after fish in Animal Crossing, simply because I can never estimate the best speed to run at without scaring away the fish. The d-pad is more exact with decisions like these.

Think about FPS they would be nightmare without precision aiming with stylus.

I don't like FPS games on the DS. Sure, I'll play them and all, but I still think they suck. Although Dementium "kinda" made me like them for a moment.
