Does anyone think this Kingston 512GB SD card would work?

I'm seriously considering getting one so I can have all my GameCube, Wii and Wii U backups in one place and finally get rid of that "format USB drive" nag screen all the time, just a nice tidy SD card only situation. I know USB Loader GX won't work with GC/Wii stuff, but will CFG USB Loader? Or am I stuck with Wiiflow? If only Wiiflow then does it support ISO or only WBFS?
I can't answer all your questions but CFG Loader is the one for playing Wii games from SD.
Didn't know WiiFlow does it too.

No guarantees but I see no reason why it wouldn't work. Just format it properly and it should work. If by chance nothing shows up on homebrew channel just pop it out, and slowly place it in again and it should show up if you do have issues.

And I could never get Configurable USBloader to work right. The special mod just wouldn't load. I use Wiiflow and it supports both ISO and wbfs, but personally I use wbfs because it's smaller file size, so I can cram alot more games onto my 256gb SD. I think I have around 80 GameCube and 70 Wii games with 5gb to spare, so there's definitely a benefit to using .gcn and .wbfs rather than ISO. Although I think I actually do use ISO for GameCube, but those are smaller files. I know for sure .wbfs works though. 100% sure.

And as you know, Wiiflow can run both from SD. THAT is the kicker there cause nobody wants to deal with that HDD nonsense, plus most already have 2 USB ports occupied from their Wii U external with Y cable anyways.

Yes I can confirm that the 512GB Kingston SDXC card works perfectly with the Wii U... when formatted correctly to FAT32 with 64kb clusters. Runs Loadiine for Wii U games, CFG USB Loader for Wii games and USB Loader GX/Nintendont direct for GameCube games, plus any emulators you might want i.e. RetroArch. Perfect.

Wiiflow was slow to load and had some seriously annoying bugs, plus was so slow handing over to Nintendont for GameCube games the Wiimote would switch off all the time. Not a great solution IMO.

sorry to using an old thread but this is what I found when I search the forums. I just got a 64g SDXC card formatted it to Fat32 and homebrew launcher and stuff can't see the files on the SD card. I am guessing the wiii u isn't seeing it. Any ideas on what I can try.

The cluster size is important. Format it to FAT32 with 32K or 64K cluster size.

Seeing as someone has already bumped this old thread....
I am thinking of getting this cheap 64 gb microSDXC card from Lexar.
Can any one confirm it should work with wup installer if formatted correctly?
Thanks.

A buddy of mine gota 64gb card and it works where mine doesn't so it depends on the specs.

Total necro post here, but this was a big help to me. I had previously used Ease Partition Magic and it was a bust. Used the Ridgecrop Tool mentioned in this post anda 128GB SD Card worked like a charm. Thanks!

Not exactly useful information. Sure, 128GBs is cool and all, but I have yet to fill up an 8GB SD card with virtual console games. Not to mention the Wii U doesn't use the SD card slot for storage (which is BS, but that's another rant), so what's really the point?
The point is to be able to transfer all the Games at once from sd to hdd if you want to Do injections and dumping. Also, playing backups is on the sd , all the cod games (and others) are 19gb so it adds Up Quick, plus the wiisxr isos that also stored on the sd. All these combined are why I love a big sd card.

I know this post is really old, but I had the same problem now. I did everything and it dont works. Now I changed the partition from primary to logical. I dont know why, but it works now. this was the only thing that works.

ummm sry but not sure what exactly you are trying to tell us...the Wii supports sdxc, so why shouldn't the wiiu? don't really see the big news there

edit: yes yes yes, before somebody starts shouting around, that the wii is far older then the sdxc format.... difference between sdxc and sdhc isn't that big. normally every sdhc compatible device should be able to read sdxc, too. all you - normaly - need to do, is format the card from exfat to fat32, like cbutters already said
The SD format for the Wii U allows for complex programs on homebrew from wii to wii u transfer (See Smash Wii hack)
