I support bub's thoughts, as I've recently attempted to softmod my sister's Wii, but I gained no progress through my attempts.
I hope a fix/exploit is found for another one of Nintendo's attempts.

If wad manager reverts back to ios36 if ios249 cant load

what the hell does this mean ??? is this google translation or what ? I begin to doubt you really know how those stuff *really* work, reading a guide do not make you an "expert", you know

more seriously, is there a way you can see and list your installed IOS version numbers ?

I mean, everything related to NAND access in the Wii is controlled by the currently loaded IOS, which include channel/ios/system menu/etc installation through the common ES
mechanism.
this mechanism is used by all games so I really doubt it will ever change, however they can improve the way IOS check for unauthorized access when it receives commands from running software. (that what they did first by fixing the signature checking bug)

Anyway, as long as you use an untouched IOS (ie IOS16 or a CIOS) to do everything you need, I don't see how your Wii can not be soft-moddded

unfortunately, if they patch all IOS to block IOS16 reload, then we are all screwed... I don't see ANY possible solution if :
1/ signature bug is fixed in all known IOS
2/ IOS installation and reload is allowed to known IOS only

if people say they have alternate fixes for that in mind or "publicly available exploit" as I read, I would be more than happy to hear more (I mean proofs, not speculation or biased promises)

I know that you got "back on track" with last couple of posts, but all of you raped this thread so much that I'm disgusted!

We got bunch of reports on this, and only this thread..

I've just spent an hour on reading all this, and removing bad posts (I've removed everything that was offtopic), and I don't even own Wii!!

Closed......No point in keeping a thread with more of 50% posts trashed, open...

EDIT: And please, don't PM me about re-opening it......PM some other staff member that is more active here, so he can judge on the future of this thread, I won't be re-opening it!
