1. It's possible you either have a corrupt image or you are trying to download from a bad site. Try renaming your image folder temporarily and trying to download all of them fresh. Are you using the defaults or have you set your own urls?
Default URLs. I don't know how to change them or rather which URLs to add to retrieve all images (some are downloaded via WiiDB as there were no covers via USB Loader update).

2. Not going to happen.
Out of curiosity: why? It'd simply things a lot for me - and I think also for others

Or downloading custom cheats (e.g. NTSC cheats for PAL games) - that'd be great, too.

3. You can, but I think only if you move the whole usb-loader folder over to the USB. You should probably do that, though. (assuming you are not using WBFS formatting here).
Hmmm... but the forwarder is poiting to my SD card and I don't know if I can load channels off the SD (Wii FW4.1).
1. I'm not sure what's going wrong then. It might be the covers directory then. Oh, are you also sure that there's room on the SD?

2. We've never been that interested in the cheats engine, and thus adding stuff for it doesn't really interest us. There are other apps better suited for that sort of thing. If somebody else adds the features and they don't use up much memory, then we can add them, but we aren't going to spend time on it ourselves.

3. You can leave the apps folder on the SD and still have all the support files on the USB drive in usb:/usb-loader. This might also fix your cover problem as they'll now be on the USB too.

cfg v61b8 (beta)
cfg61b8.dol
cfg61b8-222.dol
(or online update)
Changes:

cfg v61b8 (beta)
* Allow to disable splitting of installed games on NTFS with fat_split_size = 0
* If home=screenshot, don't disable it after screenshot is made in main menu

(fat_split_size = 0 untested, if anyone can try it let me know if it works)

Right it appears to be a bug with the latest BETA, as i just did a fresh install using the main download on the first page which installs version 60, the covers displayed from the USB drive, as soon as i did the online update to the latest version the covers stopped displaying. So there is a bug somewhere with the latest online update
So, you have no SD card, just an USB device?
How is it partitioned and formatted?
Are you using any extra options to specify the covers path?
Can you make a screenshot of the partition selection screen?
Can you run the latest beta in debug mode, i think it will print out also the cover dir used, can you make a screenshot of that too?

No i dont have a SD card in atm, but when i do have a SD card in on the global option page and towards the bottom where is says what device your using and partition, at the top line it says 'FS: SD / USB' but when no SD cards in just 'FS USB'
I just have the 1 partition on the USB drive which is FAT32
Only option im using for the covers path is USB:/usb-loader/covers
How to i run CFG in debug mode?

QUOTE(oggzee @ Nov 27 2010, 11:26 AM)
cfg v61b7 (beta)
cfg61b7.dol
cfg61b7-222.dol
cfg61b7-dbg.dol (debug enabled)
(or online update)
Changes:

cfg v61b7 (beta)
* Fixed RAW fs / part.table detection

tHeWiZaRdOfDoS, vaguerant: let me know if this fixes it.

Would this fix my covers not displaying problem and crashing when trying to download a cover on any update after v60??

@zizer - I'm not entirely sure of what you mean. You want to convert a bunch of ISO files into WBSF files? Wii Backup Manager should do the trick.

Could be, try it out and let us know.

v61.1 of Configurator is out

Download here or use online update (via Actions menu)

Changes:
  • Fixed reading intro option from meta.xml
  • Changed default URLs to remove rowdyruff to match Cfg
Sample cdbs will be updated in a few hours (configurator.cdb only).

Reading the meta.xml once the intro has been set works great now. Thanks very much!!

Dr Clipper, I have a question for you. I would like to use your cover download in your configurator but when the full size images come in, they look like this.

SMOE41.png

But I can download them using Wii game manager and they come out fine. Both apps get the image from the same place but yours comes out black like this. Any suggestions why?

Could you let me know which site and which game ID that is so I can test for myself?

Also:
v61.2 of Configurator is out

Download here or use online update (via Actions menu)

Changes:
  • fat_split_size=0 option value added for v61b8 of Cfg
Sample cdbs have been updated (configurator.cdb only).

Is it possible to set a default list view that CFG will boot to? I can't find any option like that in the menus.
The option you want is gui=1 in config.txt. Check the link OncleJulien provided for more info.

I have been using Cfg USB for months ... external HD was running out of space ... used WBFS 3.0 to format and transfer to a larger HD. reconnected to WII ... all seems fine (Cfg loads, selection screen, can dump a game ... everything) ... but when I go to run any of the games, the 249 shows and no dots ... WII hangs

I can use the new HD and other USB Loaders without a problem (they load fine)

Really like the Cfg USB look and feel ... just want it to work!

Was using v60 now upgraded to v61b8 ... still have same issue ... everything works EXCEPT when time to run a game.

Any suggestions (did I erase or not copy something over to the new drive?)

Thanks!

Awesome, thanks!

I only have one more problem with CFG right now and that is that some games do not load. Donkey Kong Returns is one of these games. See here: http://gbatemp.net/t266997-some-games-booting-to-black

Some drives just don't like 249. Try 222 maybe. If that fails, try reformatting the new drive as FAT32 or WBFS (whichever it isn't at the moment).

Sorry, I don't know what could be wrong. Try out some other video options.

Which rev and base of 249 do you have?
Do you have 222 installed too? Does it work with cfg-222.dol?
What kind of drive is the new one?
You use wbfs right? Can you try with some very old cfg version?
Try these:
http://cfg-loader.googlecode.com/files/cfg34.dol
http://cfg-loader.googlecode.com/files/cfg40.dol
http://cfg-loader.googlecode.com/files/cfg45.dol
http://cfg-loader.googlecode.com/files/cfg50.dol
All can be found here: http://code.google.com/p/cfg-loader/downloads/list

I'm new to this wii stuff so forgive me if my terminology is incorrect but I think I have found a reproducible bug in CFG loader. Problem is it seems too simple?! Any time I start CFG loader with 2 wiimotes active then CFG loader will crash. I get a DSI exception screen with a register dump. I am using 61b8 but this problem has existed at least for the last few betas. No problems starting with one wiimote [and wiiflow has no problems with 2 wiimotes either

I am using cIOS 249 rev 20b on IOS 56. I can quote some of those crash registers if they are useful to anybody?

Post only the numbers from the Stack Dump section. And let us know exactly which version you are using (i.e., 61b8 or 61b8-222 or whatever).

Oh, can you also test with v60?
