Latest Configurable USB loader v48 acts funny with my newly brought Kingston 16gb SDHC goes with the same with v47. Haven't tried other versions.

If using a forwader channel, It won't load up at all as it can't detect/load from SDHC. Now if I start it up from Homebrew Channel it loads up but images, saved options will not load from the card and if I try too save an option for one of my games it says something like 'error SD card is Inaccessible'

My 2gb run it's fine. I know it's not my card as every other homebrew that supports SDHC reads it fine, such as Wad manager, Region Changer, CIOS installer and usb loader gx.

So can anyone help me

By any chance, you don't happen to have the lock switch on the card switched on do you?

How do I change the names of games? I renamed them when loading them onto the hard drive, but Configurable USB Loader tends to still read the original title. I have Resident Evil 0 under the 'B' section as Biohazard 0 and it's driving me nuts.

Edit /usb-loader/titles.txt
or /apps/usbloader/titles.txt

Since moving the usb-loader folder from my SD card to my FAT32 hard drive I've been unable to use the online update feature (the App is on the SD card still and being loaded with a priloader forwarder).
It goes through the Downloading ............ part but then gives: error opening sd:/apps/usbloader/boot.dol
Prior to moving the folder it worked fine (but they were all older versions). Both the SD card and the USB hard drive have a single FAT32 partition.
The following information is from the loader (it is all correct though)

App. Path: sd:/apps/usbloader
FAT32 mount: SD (Standard) USB-HDD
CFG base: usb:/usb-loader
Loader Version: 49b-fat
IOS222 (Rev 4) [FAT]

Eject your SD-card and try again

Thanks, Dr. Clipper! That worked! Now I'm using 49b (non-fat version) with my HDD formatted as FAT32!

But I gotta a question about compatibility: is this lower when running games from FAT/IOS222/IOS223? I'm asking this because I can't get House of Dead Overkill to work anymore... Tried loading it with both 222 and 223 and no go

Edit:

None of my games actually works with FAT. I think it's an incompatibility issue between IOS222/223 and my USB HDD case. Unfortunatelly gotta to switch back (again

) to WBFS filesystem

Thanks,

Yes. 49b-fat works with my 2GB Sony pendrive. But doesn't work with my HDD enclosure. 49b (non-fat) works with this HDD enclosure formatted as WBFS.

Very strange. How exactly does it not work?

If it's just not detecting the drive at startup, try using IOS249 to load the drive, but IOS222 to start the games. Just use 49b and add "partition = FAT1" to config.txt. Delete any partition option from settings.cfg as well. Before launching a game, make sure you choose IOS222 in the options menu.

When using 49b-fat it doesn't detect the USB at all. It just starts the 30 secs timeout, then nothing.

Now I've just reverted back to 49b and the HDD to WBFS filesystem and it works. But I would really like to use FAT filesystem on my USB drive....

Is that possible to configure 49b-fat to start with IOS249 instead of IOS222?
Yes you can configure any version of the loader to work with any IOS, but you have a better chance of it working by using 49b normal as that seems to be working for you. Just follow the steps I stated in the quoted response to do so. You do not need to use 49b-fat to use a FAT32 drive, you only need to add that partition option to config.txt and remove it from settings.cfg, and also ensure you check the options screen of the games to choose IOS222 or 223 to actually load them.

cfg v49b2

Changes:
cfg v49b2

* Accept GAMEID without # as argument for direct start (RHAP01 instead of #RHAP01)

Hey there, I just casted a quick glimpse at the dol in a hex editor and it seems that GAMEID string happens to be occuring twice in the dol. First occurence unfortunately not related to direct launching I guess.

Ah! Of course, because i check if it has changed by comparing to that other string... I will fix this in next update so that only one #GAMEID string is present. Sorry about that. It shows it hasn't been used at all.
(Btw, the other method - by passing it to argv[1] would work.)

Well no problem, currently I'm not using direct start string. Maybe in the next version of Crap I can add support for this.

öhm.... i searched in the lists on the first post....

but i cant download any covers.... on the new version (v48)

it shows that he searchs... he shows the links etc....
mostly it shows, that the images are not correct...
but sometimes shows it, that was the download completed...

result: damaged cover or standard '?'-Cover...

what to do?

http://wiitdb.com isn't running smoothly lately. The muntrue and the other one use d in the loader aren't downloading any covers at all for me. So maybe for you it's the same

hello!
i just tried 49b2. i'm pretty amazed it's hella fast! it took less than a sec (~300 games in subfolders on a fat32 partition) to get the game list. great!

With v49b2 (other versions untested), I am unable to dump games one after the other to my hard drive. It just freezes on the screen saying "Install game" (no mention of "Opening DVD disc...").

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I have the loader configured to use Hermes's IOS222 (IOS38+60), if it matters.

Other than this minor issue, it works like a charm.

Just wondering, am I the only one that's having trouble installing games to SD Cards formatted as FAT with v49b2? I can load games fine but once I try to install a game, it says Not enough free space, 0GB out of 0GB available, and then loading games or doing anything else SD card related for that matter seems horribly broken until the loader is reset.

Talking of SD cards, anyone have any experience using a Sandisk 4gb MicroSDHC card with the loader?

I've set the loader up on a Transcend 2gb MicroSD card as a test, and it works fine (wbfs mode) but the 4gb SDHC card is having none of it - the loader runs and shows the games on it, but when you press A to start a game it just says "loading game..." (paraphrased, I can't remember exactly what it says) and hangs there.

Tried both wbfs and fat for the 4gb card.

need help re wbfs 1.9 and move_dir2, please

i have several files that say
Code:
Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7600]
Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation.ÂÂAll rights reserved.
J:\wbfs>move_dirs2.bat
Games to be moved in j:\wbfs:

hd num sector doesn't match: No such file or directory
ERROR wbfs_file.exe "j:\wbfs\R58PMR.wbfs" id_title
Press any key to continue . . .
J:\wbfs>

i can see it in this post and other posts re wbfs backup, but nothing in relation to a FAT32 partition

i have this in the BAT file
Code:
set WBFS_DIR=j:\wbfs

wbfs_file.exe, resplit.bat, move_dirs2.bat and all the *.txt & *.wbfs files are in j:\wbfs\

Any ideas? Many thanks

PS can i be cheeky and PLEAD for a WAV or MP3 export option to get the banner music into the fat32 drive (anywhere, root, or the wbfs folder). apologies, its already a brilliant loader.
