And while I am on about guitar games, back yet again to Guitar Hero 5. If you install Hermes 222/223 V4, simply install 222 as default IOS38, and 223 as 38 merge 37. Use IOS223 for the game in CFG and it works just fine.
I was planning on using the GAF tutorial for the offline installation of 222/223, so are the versions listed there for NUSD the correct ones for your instructions too (IOS37 v3612 and IOS38 v3610) and what functionality, if any, will I lose by not choosing just IOS38 instead of IOS60 v6174 merged with 38 for one of the slots? Would RB Beatles still work if I went ahead and merged them?

I tested merging 38 with 60 and GH5 gave a black screen. I also tested it using just IOS38 (default 222 install) and same deal, black screen. It looks as if the game is dependent on IOS37, which is why the only way I can find to load it is using 223 as 38 merge 37. I can confirm RB Beatles works with any of the cIOS combinations. And, yes, follow that tutorial and you should be fine.

The only one of any importance seems to be merging with IOS37. It really doesn't matter what you choose otherwise. The only reason I chose IOS60 was to justify telling you to download it earlier in the tutorial

OK guys, thanks for the replies. I guess I'll just follow Zektor's setup then with 222 as default 38 and 223 as 38 merge 37, using the title ID's given in the Doc's tutorial. Looking forward to playing GH5.

When you turn it on in the settings, it allows you to set a rating level for games which are allowed to be played and gives a 4 digit password. When starting a game, if the game indicates it is above the set rating, the menu asks for the password before playing.
I assume in Cfg you could do IOS calls to get the age rating stored in the Wii settings and read the disc header info to get the age rating of the game. Then just compare them and ask for the unlock_password or something if the game is overage.
Thanks. I guess it can be done, I will look into this.
Need to find the correct apis / data structures...

QUOTE(TeenTin @ Sep 4 2009, 09:57 AM) 1. If IOS222 V2 AND IOS223 V3 are installed, will the loader automatically choose the corresponding embedded ehcmodule ? Or we need to place the ehcmodule2/3.elf file to let the loader use it ?
Many thanks !!!

1. Up to v2 you use ehcmodule.elf. v3 uses ehcmodule3.elf. v4 uses ehcmodule4.elf. You can have all three files in your base directory and the correct one will load dependent on the installed IOS which is chosen to start the game/loader.
That answers the external module part, and to explain the embedded ehcmodule and dip_plugin part:
Yes, the loader has 3 versions of these modules embedded r2, r3 and r4 from uloader 2.5, 2.8 and 3.0.
And it chooses the appropriate one automatically depending on cios 222 revision.

I have a problem with Metroid Trilogy. When I try to play Prime 2 I select the Prime 2 DOL and when i start it I get al black screen and when I wait my Wii reboots. And Prime 1 works fine. So is there any one who can help me?

That is better than what I originally expect. Perfect !

hi, I've got a problem with the last version of this great loader, the v42b (Beta). When I enter in the 3D Cover Mode the screen turns gray and appear red and green lines, and I don't see anything, I must come back to the console mode or the grid flow mode to see the covers, and can select a game to play.

Thank you and greetings

For those really looking forward to Rockband Beatles, I am very happy to report that the game seems to have zero issues in CFG. Just got done playing the PAL release for over an hour on an NTSC machine. Works absolutely beautifully.

Settings I used:

cIOS222 v4
Force NTSC

And while I am on about guitar games, back yet again to Guitar Hero 5. If you install Hermes 222/223 V4, simply install 222 as default IOS38, and 223 as 38 merge 37. Use IOS223 for the game in CFG and it works just fine.
can you give me a link for the cios 222 v4

i have cios 222 v2 and in the config 223-mload.

No problems with the guitar in guitar hero 5

I just found that in the option menu, there is some "graphic noise" while moving through the options.

If you could let me know the following, I'd appreciate it:
1. Are you setting gui_antialias to anything in config.txt?
2. Did you download your full covers through the loader, or somewhere else?
3. Are all the full covers the same size (512x340) or different sizes? What's the largest size?
4. Do you have full covers for all your games or just some or none?
5. Which theme are you using or are you using your own with your own background and overlay?
6. How many games do you have?
7. Where are your images? (SD/USB)

Also try deleting all your covers (2d and full) and re-download them through the loader.
thanks!

I guess it's the new coverflow antialiasing code causing problems...
Is it repeatable or happens only sometimes?
If you downgrade to 42a does it work ok?
And if you again upgrade to 42b does the problem repeat?
If it's not too much trouble, and the problem is repeatable, could you create a .rar package of your covers dir on sd and upload it somewhere like for example sharebee.com and send me the link to it. (if it's too much to upload then don't bother...) how many games do you have installed?

edit: ah, beaten at answering again, well usptactical gave you all the relevant questions i think.

To be honest, I don't like the antialias feature which makes things blur. Besides, this feature slows down the display. There should be an option to turn it off, right ?

Good news. The new IOS222 V4 does fix the game stuttering problem a lot, though not totally eliminated.

try setting gui_antialias = 1

1. No. In my config.txt only there is this: gui_style = coverflow3d
2. Trough the loader
3. The size of all covers is 512x340
4. All games have 3D full cover but there are 2 games that don't have the back cover
5. I'm using BlueMatrix
6. About 12
7. In the SD

I try that before and it doesn't work. I hope this will serve to fix the problem.

Older versions such v41 or v42a works fine.

Thanks and greetings

If you could zip those up and put them somewhere I'd appreciate it.

So I would just like to clarify things. When using the new cfg42 beta along with the latest Hermes cios 222/223 rev4, do I have to copy the ehcmodule.elf from Hermes to the SD card (USB-Loader directory) and rename it to ehcmodule4.elf to take advantage of update code/features or is this copying of ehcmodule.elf file not necessary, i.e. it is built into the new beta?
