Try using the "debug=1" option, which will give you more information about what the loader is doing.

Thanks for the tip. Comparing the debug on a fresh install against my previous installation helped clear things up and covers are now downloading properly to USB.

What was the problem, if you don't mind me asking? There were several other people saying they were having issues earlier, and maybe it's the same thing.

Metroid Prime Trilogy

Test 1:

*Wii 4.1U
*cIOS rev14
*CFG v42a
-video patch: All
-Alter. dol: Disc

Stack dump
Code:
80b1f364 --> 80b1f5a0 --> 80b2df94 --> 80b2e054 -->
80b39044 --> 80b3a13c --> 80b38dd0 --> 80b3a6ac -->
80b3a87c

Test 2:

*Wii 4.1U
*cIOS rev14
*CFG v42a
-Video: Force NTSC
-video patch: All
-Alter. dol: Disc

Success!

Yeah, still not working for me.

I have no problems booting the game, just getting it to run in 480p mode. The above method does not make the game run in 480p mode.

I checked my Wii system settings just to make sure it is set up for HD...and it is.

Thanks for the efforts! I really dig this loader

What are you talking about ?

The same for me.

Cios rev 14
config usb 42.a
Video patch all
force ntsc [i have Wii Pal]

I have tried thenchu and it remains on 576i.
Now I will try madworld.

My wii is on 480p in system menù.

Well, the "patch all" is not guaranteed to work for all games.
I will consider it a bug if NeoGamma "patch all" does force 480p but cfg 42a does not.
So, can you compare with NeoGamma and let me know? If that works or doesn't?
Have you tried with MPT too?

Before this gets out of hand, this is NOT a way to get games that don't support 480p to run in 480p. What it does do is fixes games that should be able to work in 480p but don't. I'm pretty sure the only current game is Metroid Prime Trilogy.

so you can put 480p in pal games that doesn't support 480p but the corrispesctive ntsc version supports 480p.

Is this correct?

Ogg one moment.
Are you talking about ntsc metroid prime trilogy?

Not sure, I guess depends on the game, don't think of it as a general solution.
The only game so far that is known to me that benefits from this option is MPT.
If someone can find other uses let us know.

Yes.
Metroid prime trilogy [metroid prime 1] works in 480p with your setting.

Good work ogg

So, will the GECKO OS source code get implented somewhen?

At this point, we're just going to say no. If one of us (meaning oggzee) decides to add it, then we'll surprise you with it in a future release. We have a long list of things we'd like to do and this honestly isn't a priority right now.

I guess as soon WiiPower finished this (he's on it), it will be added quick...although it is realy complex, as stated by himself...just wait. Patience, young padawan

Btw: I have a new wish for this loader...Game tracking. Send the Infos of the games you played to gamerDNA. But this is probably only usefull for me, and not others. Also, oggzee and usptactical have more important things, like stated above, and it doesn't realy match with the Idea behind this loader...so I'll try to code it myself (I'll probably will fail...meh...I'll still try...). Wish me luck

Btw: Thanks for rev42

Cool, I got it working now!! I guess I did have my settings set on 480i and not 480p...

It looks like Neogamma was able to force 480p even when my settings were at 480i.
But whatever, all is good now. Thanks

Hey guys,

First of all I love this loader and it is working great for me.

I just have a little question... looking at all the possible displays, I was thinking that the one missing is the "games on shelf" display
(like http://media.photobucket.com/image/wii%20g...9_05150007.jpg)

I just think it would be great to have a lot of games on the screen (with maybe 2 shelves) and still having fairly big title names.

I am no coder and I even worst on photoshop... but I think that it might be possible now that the loader handles full covers, so I just wanted to throw the idea in the air!

Thanks again for the loader!

Should it also show the Brett "the Hitman" Heart poster?

I am ready to make some concessions on that one...
