Is there a way to save the settings of the theme/background. I really love this loader but I'm not a fan of the default background. When I change the theme it always goes back to the default when it's restarted. Anyone know how to fix this??
Thanks!!
Press 2 in the global options screen.
(where you change the theme)
edit: ah, blue-k beat me

Great!! I used the IOS 222 thing and got the Rock band instruments to work, but I actually used 223 with IOS 37 merged but it works for Rock Band and Rock Band 2!! Thank you so much for your help!!

There is a problem with Metroid Prime Trilogy if I want play it with the USB-Loader. When I try to start the game is says: Please, Intsert the Metroid Prime Trilogy Game Disc? Is there a fix or whatever?

Doesn't ask that for me.

Running CFG v41 and cIOS rev14.

I think it doesn't work becuase I patched it from NTCS-U to PAL. I think that the PAL iso work fine on my PAL Wii. But I must wait for the PAL iso

Sorry, it actually DOES ask me the same. I had not tried playing Metroid Prime 3 yet, MP 1+2 work just fine.

MP3 i have to use Hermes 222 or 223 to get it running and it ask for the gamedisc.

Welcome back oggzee! Hope you had a good mini-vacation

I have a small request. Can the changing of cover styles (2D, 3D, Disc) be added to global options?

Insert any disc in the drive slot. Any disc at all.

No you don't. It should work fine. Just try using some different "video" settings in the game options. However, I do suggest you at least buy the game and rip it yourself. It will work better that way and you might even feel good about it

. It's well worth the price in every region.

All the theme options work when used in config.txt, and they will override the startup theme as long as you put them after the "theme=" option. However, if you change themes within the loader, the theme options in config.txt are ignored from that point.

oggzee, now that you're back (yay), is there a specific reasoning for this? Could we make it so that theme options in config.txt always override the themes if they are present? It should just require a reparsing of config.txt when changing theme. It would also fix up that weird interaction between the global simple and theme simple options.

The reasoning is again, because of the loader evolution and backward compatibility. First the options that define the looks were created, only later were they split to theme and global options and theme loading support was added. The theme options were still accepted because I didn't want to break existing configs and that's where we are now. My preferred way is to completely remove theme options from the global config. I think this would be the cleanest solution to all the confusion (and btw usptactical also shares my view, mostly)

And if we really want to play with over-rides, I think a separate file could be introduced like themes/override/theme.txt or something, to make things explicit... While on the other way, your proposal is also good, it would allow over-riding and also make things more consistent. But since I can't decide which way is the best I keep postponing the decision and leaving the things as they are, yeah, maintaining the status Quo

And also, I usually find things to do that I consider having higher priority or are just more interesting to do... So after all the talk, still no decision.

But at least I explained where all the mess is coming from.

I just noticed that Neogamma is able to force 480p for games. This actually makes a pretty big difference with games like MPT where 480p doesn't load automatically. Is there a way to force it with this loader?

Setting the video option on the game's option screen to "system" rather than "game" might achieve this. Give it a try and let us know the results. If that doesn't work, oggzee will surely add it soon.

Are there any other such games except MPT? I don't have MPT to test with that's why i ask.

Yes. God, please read up, before jumping in the Backup-Scene...EVERY Game works via USB, EVERY Game on EVERY Console, no exception. Also there is NO need to patch the ISO. Download it, put it on the USB Stick/HD, let the loader do the rest. Easy as possible.

(In the last time, I think many people ask general questions about Backups in this Thread, instead Searching the Forums...strange...looks like GX has lost some people

You sure?

If the cIOS rev14 cant detect the second layer when doing playback, I'm pretty sure it can't detect the second layer when ripping from the disc right?

Use Hermes' IOS to rip the game.

Yes, you are right, DL support is broken in cIOS rev 14. Using rev 13 or cIOS 222/223 for ripping should work.

WRONG!

You show me a USB Loader that can play Splinter Cell, and I will retract this post.

For some reason the loader does not want to save game settings, what do I do? Says there is an error with the SD card even though all the folders are there that I need I think
